A Standing Game of Normality at the Student Union

The student union was quiet at the moment. A sort of calm before the storm of the hour's classes letting out. Hannah sat down at a table with her coffee, cracking open a textbook and immediately switching to her phone until her friend gets out of class.

The table next to her was an "open game" table, usually occupied by a half-finished puzzle or a messily shuffled deck of uno. Today some card game she'd never heard of is neatly stacked in two draw piles, the instructions tucked under the box they came in. The card backs depict nude figures, which while odd, isn't something Hannah would call abnormal.

While she was occupied scrolling through her apps, a couple sat down at the game table. The girl got Hannah's attention with a wave.

"Hey, we're going to try out this game, do you want to play a round or two with us?" She's a thin girl, with short black hair and dark makeup. Her friend on the other hand is a guy who looks like he works out pretty regularly.

Hannah looked at the time, seeing a few minutes until class let's out and her study partners can join her. "Yeah sure, I can play a bit." After all, it's normal to join a game if you don't have anything better to do.

The girl smiles slightly as Hannah moves over to join the table. "I'm October, that's Luke." Luke throws a peace sign, reading through the rules.

"Hannah, nice to meet you."

Luke folds the sheet up, tucking it back under the box. "Looks really simple, there's a main deck and a time deck. Just draw a card from each deck and play them on another player or yourself. Says to start with whoever has the longest hair, so I guess that's you, Hannah."
