You're going to have to stop insulting him, or he'll start to think you like him.

You explore Route One for a bit longer, but with Squirtle knocked out, the rest of your team accumulates damage fast. You avoid combat as much as possible, and you still barely make it to Viridian.

The Pokemon Center is right on the edge of town, and you're delighted to see it. These places are a home-away-from-home for trainers: they have rooms for cheap, and decent food, and one of those machines to heal your pokemon. You're pretty tired after a long day, and sleeping in a real bed sounds great right now.

The woman behind the counter introduces herself as Nurse Joy. "Welcome!" she says. "You're fresh from Pallet Town, are you? We get quite a lot of trainers from there!"

You nod. "Yeah, I gave up and joined the bandwagon. Honestly it's going great so far! I wish I'd done it earlier!"

Joy hands you a key. "I have one request: no challenges on Pokecenter grounds. No lurking just outside to challenge anyone who leaves, either. Not an official rule, but we like Pokecenters to be safe areas for new trainers. Got it?"

You nod. "Got it. I'm... uh, more the sort to be challenged, anyway."

Joy smiles. "Great! If you want challenges, you can meet trainers on routes. Or just invite them up to your room, without a challenge? You trainers can still do that, you know?"

You laugh awkwardly. "Thanks. I'll... remember that." And you back away.

You pause for a moment before heading up to your room. There's just one trainer in the lounge: a green-haired woman in a dress that matches her hair. She's picking slowly at her meal.

Well, being friendly can't hurt, right?

You stand next to her table and smile brightly. "Hi!" you say. "I'm Hazel! This is my second day! How's things?"

The woman meets your eyes for a moment. "Hi, Hazel," she says. "I'm Teal. Yeah, I heard you with Joy. Wow, second day? That's very new. Are you okay? Have they caught you yet?"

"Zero wins, five losses!" you grin. "Well, I had to hunt two of them down, so technically only three of them caught me. It's been great! You?"

Her expression freezes for a moment. "Five, already? Hah. You're taking it way better than I did after my first five."

You shrug. "Well, I did have some practice beforehand. I've been eighteen for a few months, so I wasn't starting as a virgin?"

She nods slowly. "You may be right, in that. They may not be doing trainers any favors, starting us on our eighteenth birthday. If I finish the Circuit, maybe I'll try to get the rules changed a little."

"Oh?" you ask. "How close are you? Am I looking at the next Champion?"

"Ha!" Teal shakes her head. "Champion, me? No. I know my limits."

"Besides," she continues, "it's a shit job. Spend all your time on Indigo Plateau waiting for people to challenge you? Not for me. I'm going to start a lab in Celadon City -- I just need to finish the Circuit so they'll give me funding."

The door opens, and two trainers come in. Blond male trainers, looking enough alike to be twins. "Hi there!" one of them says.

Teal glares, an expression of raw malice. You're not even in the line of fire, and you shudder for a moment. The brothers' smiles die, and they edge around the table toward the stairs. Teal holds the glare on them until they're gone.

And then it melts away, and she looks normal again. "Sorry about that!" she says. "I find it cuts down on challenges if I make it clear I'm not interested."

You're staring after the brothers mournfully. "Well, it didn't need to be a challenge. We could have... invited them up to our rooms? What did they do to you, anyway?"

Teal shakes her head. "Never met them, don't want to. It's not what they did, but what they wanted to do."

Something must be showing in your expression, because her next words are hesitant. "You... actually wanted them?" she asks. "So you weren't kidding, earlier, about enjoying forfeits?"

"I super wasn't kidding," you reply. "Do trainers ever share a forfeit? Like, two brothers with one woman? If she asks nicely?"

"I... Can we talk upstairs?" Teal asks.

The Pokecenter rooms are all very similar: a bed, a window, a closet, a bathroom, a charging station. The bed has handcuffs, you note.

Teal sits on the bed. You wonder briefly if this is going to be a sexy sort of bedroom-conversation, but she's keeping her clothes on.

"Viridian is the last Gym on the pokemon circuit," she says. "I've got seven badges. This one's my last."

"It's everyone's last," she adds. "Giovanni won't fight anyone with less than seven. It's against the rules, but he makes up some excuse for why the gym is closed. He only fights the best."

"But here's the thing. Tomorrow is my third try at the Gym. I pay the fee, make my appointment -- and then, when I try to fight, there are three trainers in front of the gym door. I beat the first two, but I lose to the third." She shakes her head. "It's a long forfeit. By the time I finish, and then get back to the pokecenter to heal my pokemon, and then get back to the Gym... I've missed my appointment. Both times."

She looks upset. "Hug?" you ask. "Hug," she agrees.

She's soft and warm in your arms, but you can feel the tension in her.

"Hazel?" she asks. "You... like doing forfeits, right? Or at least don't mind much?"

"Sex is great!" you say. "Forfeits are extra great! And, um, I just want to mention: if you wanted to have sex right now? We could totally have some sex right now."

She laughs, briefly. "Thanks, but no. Actually, I need a favor..."

The only part you don't like is the hair dye. She reassures you that it's temporary, that it'll come out in the shower. You've never dyed your hair before, and if you did, you don't think you'd go for blue-green.

Well. You suppose the color is "teal," actually.

On the bright side, Teal dyes your hair personally in the bathroom sink. Her hands are warm and gentle on your scalp and neck. You have to do it topless, of course; you catch her glancing at your chest, several times, but she doesn't make a move.

You trade clothing, too. "We should, um, keep our own underwear," she says. Her B-cup bra definitely would not fit your chest.

Her dress does fit you, after she loosens the straps somewhat, and it's the nicest clothing you've ever worn. "You probably won't be able to get it back to me in good condition," she says. "They like to tear it off."

"Is the sex good?" you ask. You'd been wondering for a while.

"If you like that sort of thing," she shrugs. "They're... certainly athletic enough. High-level trainers get a lot of practice."

"But you don't like it?" you ask. "Or..."

"I think I was too upset about missing my appointment to enjoy it properly," Teal answers wryly. "It was a lot of money. And I do prefer to be romanced first."

Huh. Well. You miss all the shots you don't take, right? "What sort of romancing do you like?" you ask. "Can I kiss you?"

She kisses you first. A quick peck on the lips, and then a longer kiss with just a bit of tongue. She pulls away, blushing faintly. "If this works out, come find me near Celadon City," she says. "I'll have a lab. I'll owe you a lot, for this. And we can have a real date."

"You'll owe me?" you ask, bemused. "You're setting my up for my first foursome. Well, my first professional foursome. What more could a girl ask?"

She kisses you again. "I can think of some things a trainer might want," she says. "We'll talk later. You should sleep now. Big day tomorrow. And... I have to shower and un-dye my hair."

"I could help you shower and un-dye your hair?" you offer.

She smiles, but pushes you out of the room. "Good night, Hazel," she says.

You sleep well. It was a long day.
