A Small Faceoff

While Kenny, Mindy, and JJ worked out the issues lingering between the trio, the others had moved upstairs and quickly began to shift themselves into their new rooms. Brian, as promised, went into Anna's and Eric's room to pack Mindy's things, which did make Anna and Eric raise a brow. The two wondering what exactly was happening between the well-known player and the quiet, sweet, introvert. Rachel and Nicole both went to Nicole's old room, packing her stuff up so she could switch into Rachel's single, which of course meant that Brian's stuff was being hucked into his bags and pushed into the hallway.

This left Zoey and Kailyn to work out things in the last single room, where Zoey started to feel a bit awkward for taking it from the older woman. "Are you sure about this? I could stay somewhere else if you want," Zoey offered as Kailyn opened her dresser and started to condense her clothes so Zoey would have room for hers,

"No, no, I'm fine, well, as long as I can keep my stuff here," Kailyn lightly replied with a smile,

"Of course," Zoey readily agreed, "Besides I only had to bring a few changes of clothes, so I shouldn't take up much space,"

"Well, if no one else has said it yet, I'm glad you're sticking around. Things are definitely a little...intense right now, but I know for a fact there's never this much drama with these guys." Kailyn explained before letting out a small laugh, "Maybe it's the lodge, everyone's going crazy like in The Shining!"

Zoey let out a lighthearted laugh of her own as she set down her bag and unzipped it, "Yeah...um, about everyone else, I noticed you talked to Kenny," Zoey softly said while giving the girl a half glance, "What did you talk about?" Kailyn looked back in minor surprise, "I only ask because he was alright when he drove me home and back, but now he looks very upset," Zoey instantly followed up with,

Kailyn let out a small nod, instantly deciding to keep their small indiscretion out of what she told the girl, "Well, uh...Kenny's having a very rough time right now," She admitted, "I don't know if he told you anything but he's been having some girl troubles, and earlier...he got his heart broken," Zoey's eyes widened, "He feels alone, betrayed...hopeless really," Kailyn lowly stated with a shake of her head,

"He told me he was talking to Nicole...is she the problem?" Zoey asked, nearly sounding hopeful that it was, and this wasn't her fault,

"A bit, Rachel was involved too, and so was my brother," Kailyn muttered with a frown, "Let's just say Nicole wasn't very gentle or fair when she told Kenny she was done with him,"

"She broke up with him!" Zoey almost exclaimed in complete confusion, unable to understand how anyone would walk away from a guy like Kenny,

"I'm not sure broke up is the right phrase," Kailyn replied with a shrug, "They weren't dating, that much I know, but it yeah, she no longer wants to be in anything serious with Kenny. Apparently, Rachel planted the thought in her head that they weren't compatible,"

Zoey pursed her lips and shook her head irritably while aggressively pulling her things from her bag. "Tsk, maybe she was fucking right, she didn't deserve him," She muttered under her breath, low enough were Kailyn could only hear the sounds of her speaking yet not the words. Minutes later Kailyn was finished with condensing her stuff and stepped aside for Zoey to use the dresser, "Thank you, Kailyn,"

"No problem," Kailyn smiled back, "I think I'm gonna go have a quick talk with my brother now, make sure he's talked with Kenny by now, and apologized,"

"Sounds like the smart thing to do," Zoey nodded and waved the girl off as she slipped out of the room. However, only moments later, she heard the bedroom door open, and when she lifted her eyes she saw Nicole standing with her arms folded, "Can I help you?" Zoey tried to ask nicely though her voice came off rough and annoyed,

"I don't really appreciate the attitude and glares you've been giving me since you and Ken got back," Nicole replied with a frown, "We just met, what's your problem with me?"

"I don't have a problem with you, Nicole," Zoey muttered back,

"Clearly you do, now I know you and Kenny had a little fun together, but you don't know what you're getting into," Nicole stated causing Zoey's upper lip to twitch in frustration,

"You don't..." She began to seeth before taking a slow breath, "You don't know what you're talking about. I know what I'm getting into with Kenny,"

"No, you don't, I know the guy, we've been friends for years, and you met him a few days ago," Nicole snapped back, "He's not going to be satisfied with you,"

"Excuse me?!" Zoey finally yelled out while springing to her feet,

"I'm telling you the truth when I was with Kenny these last few days; he fucked Rachel, Mindy, and you during that time. He won't admit it out loud, but I've come to see that he's much more like me than I ever realized. He just wants sex, but he's going to hide behind some "relationship" factor to make up for it. Just like me, you're going to come up short, and he'll move onto another girl." Nicole explained with a small shrug, "So, really, you should do yourself a favor and stay away from him,"

"That's your plan?" Zoey growled out, "Trick me by smearing Kenny's name?"

Nicole's brow raised, "What?"

"Kenny had sex with me because you fucked Brian!" Zoey barked out, "You're the one who can't be satisfied with one guy! A guy, you never should have gotten in the first place!"

"Kenny and I were-" Nicole began to argue,

"You were nothing! You tricked the amazing guy into thinking you cared, that he meant something to you but all you cared about was his fucking dick! Then Rachel gave you the perfect reason to shut him down for good, that way you could remain blameless when you broke his fucking heart!" Zoey growled,

"We weren't a good match; he wants some perfect fucking girl to settle down with!" Nicole shot back with a toss of her hands, "I told him multiple fucking times all I wanted to do was hook up, and he got attached!"

"Bullshit, you got attached first, then you acted out like a child when he started hurting your feelings. It was your fucking fault that he did anything with us because you wouldn't grow up and admit you wanted to be with him and only him!" Zoey retorted,

"I didn't!" Nicole firmly stated, "I never wanted to only be with him!"

Zoey let her head fall back and shook her head, "Oh my god," She nearly sneered, "How the fuck didn't I see this? I'm giving you too much credit, thinking you're an actual decent human being," She bitterly laughed,

"What?" Nicole hissed out,

"If you can't have Kenny, then no one can," Zoey muttered back, "You want him alone, and the only option he has is you. That way you can have him and whoever the fuck else you please, but he would have to suffer alone. Well, newsflash, Nicole, that's not gonna happen. Kenny doesn't need a fucking bitch like you,"

"You're fucking delusional," Nicole replied as her eyes flared up and she clenched her fists,

"Am I? You just came in here to make sure I stay away from him even though you just broke up," Zoey pointed out with a near disgusted shake of her head, "But for your information, if I want to be with Kenny, then I'm going to fucking be with Kenny," Nicole's face tightened, and the two redheads stared at each other for a long minute, "Get the fuck out of my room," Zoey finally hissed out. Nicole's lips parted as if she trying to come up with a comeback, some way to get at Zoey, but the girl merely let out a bursting shout and spun around, storming out of Zoey's room while slamming the door.

Zoey let out a few deep breaths and let herself fall back onto the bed, sitting down while running her hands through her hair, "G-Good fucking try," The furious girl muttered out, "But you're not winning here, Kenny's not being left with no one but you," She firmly stated.
