Chapter 5 by UrielCifer UrielCifer

What Does Harry Write?

A Rule of Convenience

Orgsanization: Everything. New Rule: Harry James Potter is able to make anyone ignore him utterly, treating him as nothing special and completely normal no matter the circumstances or what he is doing.

Harry closed the Rulebook, standing from his bed and placing it into his robe’s pocket. Deciding to go and test the New Rule, he walked out of the dormitory and into the common room, where there were a few people milling about, doing homework or chatting or playing wizard games Harry had no reference for.

Feeling about for… whatever would trigger the “ignore me” power, Harry felt his thoughts coil around something in his mind, feeling vaguely like a switch. With a mental jerk the switch was flipped, and Harry could see the few people who turned to him look away, entirely ignoring him.

Feeling a smile twitch the edge of his lips, Harry called out. “Hello?” And practically exalted in the fact that no one looked his way.

Deciding to up the ante, Harry went up to a random student, one he didn’t know the name of, and poked him in the cheek repeatedly. The student didn’t even twitch, focused entirely on the homework in front of him.

Grin splitting his face in two, Harry laughed. Loud and unrestrained, Harry laughed and laughed harder seeing how no one looked at him for his uproarious laughter.

For once, Harry knew that he wouldn’t be put on some pedestal for being the ‘Boy-Who-Lived.’ He wouldn’t have to be anything for anybody.

After calming down from his laughter, Harry practically skipped out of the common rooms, debating on what else he should do with his new ability and the Rulebook he had so luckily come across.

What Does He Do Next?
