A Pastor's Wife Suddenly Has An Interest in Studying the Occult

original author : Master of Souls

Ottilia was wiping the books and now she carefully took the book "Kabbalah" to her husband's table. This book was needed by her husband, he was writing a dissertation on Jewish cults. The book seemed strangely warm to the woman, and she, herself not understanding why, opened the book on the first page and ... read the spell.

Ottilia Small, 49-year old wife of Pastor Steven Small, reverend of the only Baptist church in Nelson's Ridge, looked down at the page in the book and read the inscription phonetically, as she didn't know how to read Hebrew. Suddenly, the warmness she felt from the book transferred up her arms and then to her head. What was happening?

The door behind her opened suddenly and she heard her husband's voice. "Ottilia, what do you think you're doing? Close that book immediately!"

Without question, she shut the book, then blinked when she looked over at Steven. "I ... I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."

"It's okay," he said, softening. "It's just that some of the books that I obtained for my dissertation are, well, forbidden knowledge. I don't want you being exposed to that kind of thing. You're a good, pure woman. You shouldn't have to deal with the dark side of life."

Feeling ashamed that she had allowed herself to read one of her husband's forbidden books, she timidly nodded. "I swear it won't happen again." Then she made her way out of her husband's study and to the bedroom down the hall.

Once inside the bedroom, she sat on the bed, still feeling ashamed. But then, that feeling of warmness came back, centered on the top of her head. Jumping to her feet, she ran to the bedroom mirror and looked at herself. She was a plain woman, wiry with not many curves to speak of, dressed in a full-length long-sleeved beige dress. She was obviously getting older these days, which wasn't really improving her looks any, not that she really had much of that when she was younger anyway. And her hair, once a muddy brown color, was now short, straight, and graying. Except ... that wasn't true.

Ottilia peered closer at herself in the mirror, looking directly at her hair, and watched it grow longer. Impossible! But it was happening. And not only that, but it was becoming curlier, and ... red? Before long, she had long curly hair, down past her shoulders even! And it was a rich vibrant red, something she never had. It was almost ... sinful. Her heart skipped a beat as a small smile entered her lips. She wasn't one to have naughty thoughts, but right now, having this one, gave her a dark thrill she had never experienced before. And she wanted more of it. That book ... it had done this to her, she was sure of it. She began to wonder what else it could do.

Stepping back from the mirror, she couldn't help but think that she had seen a hairstyle just like this somewhere ... but where? And then it came to her - Agatha White, that strange woman who lived out in the woods near the park. She was an outcast, preferring to live alone away from society. Some even thought that she was a witch. But that sort of thing didn't exist in today's world, right? Although ... Ottilia did just cast a spell from an occult book. So perhaps ...
