A More Extensive Rewrite !

Debbi let Karen and the graduate hopefuls take the lift first, following them down when it returned and alighting at the rear of the temporary stage. "Cutting it fine aren't you ?" sneered Diane, who was waiting there with Jeff and Aditty. "It's only 1218" Debbi sneered back."Where's Carol ?" "She's off sick with an upset stomach" said Diane casually. "What ?" exclaimed Debbi. She'd be having words with her assistant tomorrow. "So we've had to rearrange things slightly" Diane continued. "You'll be doing Carol's walkout too." Diane tried hard not to laugh at the look on Debbi's face. "In fact, we took the opportunity to do a more extensive rewrite and there are now twelve 'outfits' for you to walk out and model !"

"Twelve ? Come on Jeff, that's ridiculous." Debbi turned to her boss for support but none was forthcoming. "The timing's all been meticulously worked out and it'll be fine as long as you do your bit efficiently, so I don't want to hear any more complaints. Look, Diane's even gone to the trouble of providing somewhere for you to take your clothes off and keep them safe so you can easily get dressed again afterwards." He indicated a makeshift wooden structure which appeared to be little more than a glorified cupboard.

"That's right" Diane agreed. "And times's pressing so get in there and strip off. Aditty will be in charge backstage and remember what we rehearsed yesterday. Each time you come out, go first to the front of the stage. Pose with hands aloft for a long three count. One...two...three. Then walk to the right of the stage, stop and turn to pose with one hand raised and one on your hip and hold for another three count before crossing to the left of the stage and stopping to pose legs akimbo with both hands on your hips for the count of three. Think you can manage that ?" "Yeah, yeah, got that. I'm not thick" Debbi fumed as she walked into her mini changing room.

The changing room was uncomfortably cramped and claustrophobic and Debbi had to contort to divest herself of her business attire and underwear. Diane and Aditty waited for Jeff to go before high fiving each other. "I'd better get ready to go on stage" said Diane, picking up the clipboard containing her script. "How many are watching the live stream ?" "894 and counting" replied Aditty. "Really ?" Diane was surprised. "Well, you spread the word quite widely throughout the industry as well as with the international customer base. I reckon everyone who's ever had any dealings with Debbi in a professional capacity will be watching" the Asian girl answered with a grin.

The now naked Debbi emerged from the changing room. Diane smiled with satisfaction. Seeing Debbi humbled and making a fool of herself never got old. "Good, we're all set. Aditty's got your heels" she told Debbi.
