A Little Awkward

The next morning, Janet van Dyne and Sue Storm both felt the crash after the pills. Worse than that, there was the awkwardness. Sue was dressed in only a t-shirt when she stumbled into the kitchen to make coffee. Janet staggered in, wearing a sheer bathrobe, and wouldn't meet Sue's eyes. But she accepted a cup of coffee, and the two women sipped the hot magic, black as the night, and let the caffeine move through them and do its magic.

"Hell of a slumber party," Janet eventually broke the silence.

Sue Storm had to grin.

"Welcome to my life lately," the Invisible Woman said. "Ever since I started therapy to help with my stress, I just can't keep my hands off myself."

"I understand," Janet said, and reached out to squeeze Sue's arm. "I mean, we dress up in costumes, we're surrounded by literal demigods and women that put models and porn stars to shame, it would be weird for that to not affect us sexually at some level. I mean, you saw me last night. Same as you."

Sue sighed. "I wish Reed and the others would understand."

"Well, for what it's worth, I don't care how much you masturbate," Janet said, magnanimously. "And you can flick your bean here whenever you want."

Sue snorted. "Thank you Jan, I appreciate that. Although I don't want to be a bother."

"Oh, it's no bother," the Wasp said. "God, that was the most excitement I've had in years. Normally porn doesn't do that much for me, but having someone else there was...nice. Comforting."

It was like a dam broke between them. They were still friends. Their friendship had just breached new ground. Sue found herself relax a little, and she could tell Janet felt the same way. There was still that awkwardness there, but they were working through it.

Then Jan's Avengers communicator beeped.

<<AVENGERS ASSEMBLE>> Captain America's voice chimed.

"Work," the Wasp said, pulling off her robe in a startling lack of modesty, so that she could get into her costume faster. "Coming?"

"You know it!" the Invisible Woman shot back, stripping off her shirt and reaching for her bag where her own costume was. Within minutes, the two heroines were out the patio door and zooming over Manhattan.
