A Kind Heart

Stunned and in shock, you fail to get out a response. After waiting for a response that never comes, the woman crouches down in front of you and puts a hand on your shoulder.

“Can you understand me?” She asks.

You open your mouth to speak, but to horror no words come out. You try once one, but still nothing. You start crying again. It appears wailing and moaning are fine, but you have completely lost the ability to speak. You can only assume this is also part of the curse. The woman in front of you seems to take notice of this.

“So you’re a mute then, huh?”

You nod your head as tears stream down your cheeks.

“You got anywhere to go?”

You shake your head. You feel the woman tightly grip your hand and lift you to your feet.

“This is no place for a darling girl such as your self to be. Why don’t you come with me, I’ll fix ya up with some clothes, a meal, and a room. What ya say?”
