Hitchhiking out here is not unusual. Sometimes you trade rides for light work, but most of the time it’s a long walk between towns.

Last night you paid for a motel room, a decent shower, and light breakfast. So you pack your bag, and put your cap on to set off on walking the narrow road between the highway and guard railing.
