A Greater Slime

Slimes are made up of a thick, slimy substance. They have a small core that acts as a heart. Destroying it is the only way to kill the slime. They are very resistant to any physical attacks. I think thanks to my Wisdom Milestone. I tell Luna and Innu what I thought.

"Since it's Acidic, it's probably best to stick to magic." I say and Luna growls quietly.

"I can't do that. My spells use too much mana to use continuously." Luna says. I think about it for a moment before remembering my Mana Sword.

"Luna, try this. It's a weapon that was in the locked box we got in the Ruins. It's a Mana Sword. It deals magic damage and the blade is made of mana, so it shouldn't break." I say while taking it out. I hand it to Luna and she pours her mana into it. The blade appears and she looks down at it.

"It's really light." Luna says, not in a good or bad way. Innu takes her weapon out but I stop her.

"Innu, can you support us from the back? I'm worried that it'll melt weapons. But Luna and I have weapons that won't get melted, I hope." I ask her and she nods. She sheaths her weapon and I turn to Luna.

"Are you ready?" I ask her and she nods. I activate my Dark Weapon since I haven't seen anything about durability. I bring out my Dark Boots, Dark Claws, and Flame Horns. We rush the Slime and it turns to face us. Its face looks like a woman's, but it's all green. It raises both its hands at us. Their hands lose their shape before it launches them. I manage to dodge the one sent at me and Luna seems to have cut hers down. I look back to see it's missing its arms. They quickly grow back in a matter of seconds. I cut across its chest as they grow back and miss the core. I don't get any damage notifications from my attack. I turn in time to see Luna attack it. She misses the core as well. The slime turns to face us again. It starts to raise its hands but stops as its back gets engulfed in a dark red flame. The flame causes light to go through the slime's body. That lets me see a small blue orb inside it. It moves slowly throughout the body. I rush it and cut it before the fire dissipates.

Rare Material Drop

I store away the drop while Luna and Innu walk over to me.

"That was annoying." Luna says and I nod.

"It's going to be tough fighting these. Innus fire helped find it though. How many times do you think you can do that?" I ask and Innu tilts her head.

"About 9 more times. Unless I take breaks. It doesn't use too much mana but breathing fire like that puts a strain on my body. I'll end up burning myself if I do it continuously." She says and I nod.

"I'll light up the next one then. We'll take turns from there and if you need a break I'll take over. Hopefully they don't group up." I say and she nods. We continue walking and soon find another Slime. We charge it again but instead of cutting it, I cast Create Fire. I run past it and slam a fist of flames into its back. That lights it up for Luna to locate and destroy the core.

Epic Material Drop

I store the drop away before we continue exploring. We come across nine more Slimes. Fortunately, they were all on their own. I earn 58,500 Exp, 47,201$, seven Rare drops, and two Epic drops. We find the boss soon after and quickly get out of sight. We're hiding in a tent that hasn't been knocked over. I look out and look at the boss again. It's been pacing back and forth for the few minutes we've been here. It looks like it's guarding a tent but we can't be sure. It has three Greater Acidic Slimes around it. I Observe it again, just to make sure my skill is still working correctly.

Slime Rulers are the most deadly slimes to exist. They typically live in pairs, one masculine and one feminine. They rule all other Slimes and have developed an immunity to almost every element to avoid an attack from their subjects. They're immune to Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Nature, Light, Shadow, Ice, Divine, Demonic, and Abyssal. They have five cores that must be destroyed to kill them. Each core will regenerate in one hour if even one core remains. I think again after Observing it. I sigh and step back from the flap. I sit down next to Luna and Innu.

"Anything new?" Innu asks despite knowing the answer. I shake my head no and she nods.

"Can we beat it Alpha?" Luna asks and I shrug.

"Maybe? If it was alone, I'd say yes. But it has three Greater Acidic Slimes around it. And the only thing I can think of is using Annihilation magic. Ancient Beast magic might hurt it but I'm not sure." I say and Innu sits up.

"What if you use your Annihilation Energy spell to hit all of them? Or you could use Create Fire to push the Acidic Slimes away." She says and I nod.

"That could work, but I can't use Annihilation Energy. It'll use too much mana and it might not break any cores. But I could use the fire. That would leave you two to fight three of them. Can you handle it?" I ask and they each nod.

"Of course! Will you be okay though? It's really strong." Luna says and I nod.

"Girls, I want you to promise me that if you get into trouble you'll exit to my Domain. Just shout if you do and I'll follow." I say sternly and they each nod.

"Make sure you do the same okay!" Innu tells me and I nod.

"You two ready then?" I ask while standing up and they get up with me. We go to the tent flap and wait until the slimes are facing away. We decided to try and sneak up on them instead of charging them. Once they do we quietly run out.
