A Fight

I feel the mana around me change and barely dodge him. He Blinked right next to me and tried to cut my head off. Fuck! He has Blink! And his mana pool is a little less than double what mine is. This is going to be a major pain in the ass. I think to myself before sensing the mana change again. This time I know what's coming and can dodge it better. I try to cut his arm but he Blinks away. I suddenly sense the mana change again, but not like before. His Katana gets engulfed in lightning and I realize he cast Thunder. I decide to follow suit and cast Demonic Flare and Thunder on mine. I see him smile before running at me. I decide to do the same and run at him. Moments before our blade connect I Blink behind him and cut down on his back.

He Blinks behind me and catches me unprepared. I manage to turn so instead of getting cut on my back, his blade cuts my shoulder.

I Blink away and cast Healing Hands on my shoulder.

I feel the mana change and see he just healed himself. I suddenly get an idea and take out my wings. As I expected he has Annihilation Cloak. I see it wrap around him and he follows to the sky. Fortunately he didn't seem to be expecting this, giving me enough time. I cast Ancient Beast Roar and start gathering energy around my open mouth. I slow down quite a bit while doing so and I see the other me start to fly faster. I smile and continue flying away. He quickly catches up but not before I finish charging it. I Blink back as he cuts the air in front of me and release the attack. It flies straight at him at an incredible speed. Despite this he Blinks away and I smile. I toss a rock, that I picked up before taking off, at him. I them cast Swap on the rock and the ball of energy I just unleashed. It costs 298 MP but it's worth it. The ball appears in front of him and he can't react quickly enough. It connects and explodes and the shockwaves knock me back.

I see him fall through the smoke and towards the ground. I start following after him when I feel the mana change around both of his hands. I stop and get ready to block or dodge. He stops falling and thrusts his Katana at me. I feel all the mana between us disappear as well as the mana around me. Immediately after a beam of dark grey energy rushes to me. Fortunately, since my wings are a part of my body and not magic, I'm able to fly to my right. However I'm too slow. The beam cuts through my left arm, right below my shoulder. It cuts through the flesh, tissue and bone. I can even feel my blood vanish. My arm falls to the ground as pain consumes my bloody shoulder. Through the pain I barley manage to notice two things. The first is that I never got a damage number, so that attack didn't do damage, despite causing me pain. The second is the other Me's katana, coming down on my head. I somehow manage to Blink away avoid it. This knocks me out of my pain and I focus on the fight again. That's not to say it's still here. My entire left shoulder is screaming at me.

I feel my shoulder throb. Fuck! I need to stop the bleeding! But how? I didn't take any damage so would a healing spell even work? Maybe I could cauterize it. I am immune to fire. I think before he charges me again. I Blink above him and look down. I suddenly get a idea. This is gonna be crazy. And risky. If he has my Fire Immunity skill then I'll die. I think before Blinking towards my cabin, while dodging him. I continue to dodge him and make my way to my cabin. I do my best to make it seem like I'm fighting by attacking whenever I can. Neither of us manages to hit the other but he comes close a few times. It becomes painfully clear how much stronger he is than me. I land on the ground next to my cabins door and run inside. I quickly grab and store my Cerberus Hammer in my inventory, glad and a little surprised it's here. As I hoped he follows me inside. He enters after I Blinked into my Blacksmiths Workshop. I crouch down behind the door and crack it open. I have no doubt he's using his Sense Presence to check if I'm watching him. I cast Summon Beast and summon my Spectral Owl. I have it fly down behind him while keeping its eyes closed to not show up on his Sense Presence icon.

"Come on out! I know you're here!" He says loudly, but not quite shouting.

"I think I'll pass!" I have my owl answer and he turns around. I look away and have my owl open its eyes. I'm hoping I timed it right and his icon didn't say 0 or 2 people were watching him.

"I did not expect this." He says calmly and shrugs. "You've got me. But now what? You can't leave until you've killed me. And if you try to cast any spells I'll notice from our Mana Sense skill."

"True." I say causing him to remain silent in thought for a few moments.
