The tent ripped open.

Milly looked up and their she saw the talons of a dragon, coated in purple scales with yellow claws. Looking past it she saw the massive body, long neck and large head of the dragon. Pinned by the other talon was Hattie, one claw over her mouth stopping her from screaming.

“P P Please, dragon, let my friend go. We we don’t mean you any harm.” Stuttered Milly. “I I have always been interested in Dragons and other rare creatures and races.”

“I see.” The dragon spoke in a deep masculine voice. “ So you decide to come wondering out into the wilderness at night in search for one.” He remarked with a disapproving tone.

“My friend, the one in your talon told me that a rare dragon had been sighted nearby and this was the last chance for me to see one before I am to be married. My Farther, The King, would not let me come and find you without being escorted by 20 guards. And I know dragons do not like humans with weapons.” Milly explained.

“Ah so you’re a little princess, interesting.” The Dragon replied and looked at her intensely. “Well, It’s a good thing I found you then. There is a band of werewolves in this forest that would not hesitate ripping you limb from limb, little princess.” H e explained.

“Are you going to protect me?” Milly asked looking up pleadingly.

“It is a good thing I take after my blue farther not my red mother. She would have bunt you alive for trespassing into her territory. I however enjoy company form people kind enough not to try and attack me. I will take you and your friend to my den and keep you safe. My name is Henvaray (hen- va -ray) but you can call Henry if you like. What is your name, little princess?” Henry asked

“ Matilda or Milly.” She replied.

“Hold still Milly I am going to lift you up.” Henry instructed as he reached down with his free talon and grasped her. He leaped into the air and flew toward a large cave.

Milly felt herself soaring through the air and was amazed seeing the ground down below her. Her horse and Hattie’s had been set free and were galloping off towards the castle. She heard howls of wolves and saw large shadowy figures move into the clearing where her ruined camp was before the dragon took her out of sight.

They came to land in the cave and standing on his hind legs, Henry walked inside using his tail to steady himself as he walked. He placed the two ladies down and returned to quadruped stance. Released from the dragon’s grip, the girls started to shiver in the cold night air their thin sleeping garments not providing much warmth.

“Seeing this the dragon found ways to keep the girls warm though the night.” George’s mum told her young son. Skipping to the next day. However she remembered what she had been taught including the intermate details.
