A Day in the Life Of

Jessica Smith’s day started out like any other. She woke up next to her husband Henry, took a quick shower, got the kids ready for school, and kissed her husband goodbye before leaving herself.

At the High School Jessica worked at she taught her English classes, tutored the few students who wanted help, talked to her fellow teachers, and sat in boring meetings with the faculty.

Then she went home, graded some papers, cooked dinner, made sure the kids did their homework, kissed her husband good night, and then went to bed herself.

Jessica laid in bed, unable to go to sleep. “Come on, I’m bored!” Jessica didn’t reply to the voice in her head. Maybe if she ignored it, the voice would let her sleep. “The kids are asleep, Henry is asleep." Of course Henry was asleep, he seemed to do little else when he was home. "Why don’t you go out and have some fun? You know you want to.”

Jessica doesn’t respond verbally, but she knows that the voice can hear her thoughts. “You know I can’t do that GG.”

“You might not be able to, but I can…” Silence “Come on, we won’t even be gone all night! We go out, have some fun, and be back before anyone is the wiser, I promise.”

Jessica didn’t want to admit it, but there it was impossible to hide anything from GG. After all, GG was herself. Or a part of herself anyway. There really was little reason to stay. It wasn’t like Henry or the kids were going to wake up soon or anything.

With a sigh, Jessica slowly got out of bed and walked over to the dresser and stared at the mirror, examining herself.

She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and felt the change take hold of her body. Her own mind receding to the back and swapping places with GG as she felt her body physically change.

GG opened her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror.

Gone was the short plain looking woman with brown hair and dull grey eyes. In her place was a tall golden-haired beauty with vivid blue eyes. Smiling to herself, GG striped off the little bit of clothing she wore to bed while grabbing new clothes from the dresser.

Tonight, was going to be fun!
