A Dark Cloud

Chloe crawls up onto Fiona's lap just as a cat would, rubbing against Fiona and purring up a storm. While Chloe was petite having a full grown woman crawling over your thighs as you were kneeling could not have been comfortable, yet Fiona barely flinches. She showers Chloe with love and affection. Petting her, nuzzling her, telling her how pretty she was. Fiona seemed bursting with pride at Chloe's transformation.

She looks at you as she continues to pet Chloe's nonexistent fur. "She's only ever shown Puss-Puss to Peg and I. This is a big moment for her."

You weren't sure how you were supposed to react to this. Fiona was clearly proud and Chloe was clearly happy and yet...weird. "Is she like a furry or something?"

Fiona laughs. "No. She's a pet." She scratches under Chloe's chin. "Aren't you baby? Who's a pet? You are. Yes you are pretty girl."

Chloe's purring intensifies. Rolling off of Fiona's lap she stretches out to expose her belly and your sister rewards her with a belly rub. Chloe's cock was still perfectly flaccid. Whatever she was getting from this wasn't sexual in nature.

Fiona reads your mind, probably because you were staring at Chloe's junk. "Puss-Puss can't get hard. She's been neutered but not spayed, if you catch my drift." "Puppy?"

"Two pets in one. Not uncommon. But today I could just tell she was a kitten."

"Master." Fiona says with sudden seriousness. "This is Puss-Puss. Please don't use that other name right now."

"Petspace is easily broken."

"Oh, right." Petspace?

Chloe gets up to her hands and knees and begins sniffing in your direction. She looks wary of you, as if you were a stranger.

"Just treat her like any other cat." Fiona says as she stands and heads out into the kitchen.

"Right." So your cousin was a cat now? Par for the course. You couldn't imagine there was a stranger family than yours in the whole world.

You look at your cousin who had a curious, vacant and mischievous look about her. "Hey there Puss-Puss." You reach out for her but she scrambles back on all fours and hides, poorly, around the far side of the coffee table. You try very hard not to laugh at her but a few chuckles escape. She hisses at you and hides more. "Don't be like that. Come here Puss-Puss."

Fiona walks back in with a thin white collar in her hand, the little bell on it jingled as she walked, and a headband with white and black cat ears pointing off the top of it. She kneels down beside your cousin slips the band onto Chloe's head and fastens the collar around her neck. "There you go naughty kitty. Now we can hear you. I couldn't find your tail." She looks at you. "Silly cat, always losing her tail."

"Mew." Chloe rubs against your sister again to be rewarded with more pets. For all intents and purposes Fiona was treating her just like a kitten. She then returns to kneel near you. Chloe begins exploring the room on all fours. Every motion and sound from her was distinctly feline. She reaches in behind her television stand with her curled up paw-hands and pats out a ball of yarn which she commences to playing with.

"Fiona, why...um...just why?" You say as you watch your cousin chase the ball of yarn around the house.

"Isn't she cute?"

"Yeah, but...why?"

Fiona shrugs. "Who can say. Puss-Puss and Muffin just live inside of her. It takes a lot of trust for her to let them out."

"Muffin?"

"The puppy. She spent a lot of time alone in her life and she has a very active imagination. I'm sure there's some psychological explanation but who cares why. I think it's precious. It's honest. It's real." Fiona watches for a time, as Chloe bounds around the corner and out of sight she adds. "Her Daddy better appreciate her or I swear..."

You wait for her to finish but she falls silent. You are curious, then you remember you are her master. "You swear what?"

She looks up to you with a dead serious expression. "If he hurts her, I hurt him."

Her look sent a chill down your spine. This was not bluster, Fiona meant it from the bottom of her heart.

"I don't want you hurting anybody."

Her face goes grim. "Yes Sir."

"If anyone hurts one of us..." You reach out and cup her chin in your hand. "...we'll deal with it together. We do it together. You don't need to protect this family by yourself anymore."

Fiona expression softens, slowly turning into a smile. "Yes Sir."

Just then Chloe scrambles back into the living room in hot pursuit of the rolling yarn ball.

Pulling your sister closer you have her lay her head onto your lap. As you stroke her long soft blonde hair the pair of you watch Puss-Puss play with unabashed kittenish joy. You feel Fiona relax into you and you both relish this quiet shared moment. If the woman at your heel that you were caressing so lovingly wasn't your sister and the "cat" you were watching wasn't your naked cousin this could have been a scene as wholesome as a Rockwell painting.

As you sit in this strange domestic bliss a buzzing gnat of a thought would not leave you in peace. 'If anyone hurts one of us we'll deal with it together.' Someone had hurt one of you. Someone was blackmailing your sister. Threatening to expose her if she didn't give herself to him. Like her you would rather die, literally rather die, than see Fiona kneel for another man. It had been the thing to bring you together but it was also the thing than now hung over you like a dark looming cloud on an otherwise perfect day.
