What will happen next?
A Daily Occurrence
The next morning Patrick was a bit sore when he woke up. It wasn’t even that he had woken up on his own. Someone had cleared their throat and gotten his attention since he was a light sleeper. He looked around and found his mother standing at the door, smiling at him. He didn’t know what his mother was doing just walking into his room, but there must be something going on.
Patrick took a good look around the room and finally realized that he wasn’t in his room. He was still on the loveseat in the theater room and he was still surrounded by Sasha, Mallory, and Sable. The good thing was that all four of them were covered by a few blankets so that they weren’t showing themselves off in front of anyone who walked in.
“I guess breakfast is ready?” Patrick asked, making the girls start to move next to him.
“Yeah. I never saw you walk back upstairs last night, so I thought I had better check and make sure that you weren’t down here.” Josie said.
“Thanks. We will be up in a few minutes.” Patrick said.
“Don’t forget your clothes though.” Josie said as she smirked at her son.
“We won’t.” Patrick said as he and the girls started to wake up fully and get dressed so that they could get breakfast and get their day started.
. . .
When they were done with breakfast, Patrick looked over at Mallory and saw that she wasn’t even acting weird after what they had said to each other the night before, but he had to know if things would go on as normal. “Are you still up for our morning walk?” Patrick asked.
“Sure. I don’t see any reason for anything to change.” Mallory said from where she sat beside Ben.
“Okay. I will meet you back down here in 15 minutes after we both change.” Patrick said as he got up and went to his room to change.
“See you then.” Mallory said as she went to change as well.
Just like they had planned, both of them were back within 15 minutes and they were now walking down the same road that they were the day before. “It’s so peaceful here. I wish we could stay longer than a week.” Mallory said.
“Yeah, it would be nice. I love it here.” Patrick said.
“So, about last night. I just want you to know that I meant everything I said. I do love you and have for a long time now. I just don’t know what to do with Ben. I don’t want to hurt him, but I can’t keep dragging this out either.” Mallory said.
“I love you too. I probably have for as long as I can remember, but it has been even more so over the past couple of weeks.” Patrick said.
“So, any tips on what I should do about Ben?” Mallory asked.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to hurt him either, but it is probably better for things to end before either of you get any more invested than you already are.” Patrick said.
“Well, you’re no help.” Mallory laughed as she slapped Patrick on the shoulder and he chuckled in response.
“All I can say is that it might be good for the two of you to talk about it. I don’t know exactly how invested you are in the relationship and I don’t know about Ben either, but I do know that the two of you should be able to figure things out without there being too much fallout.” Patrick said.
“I hope you’re right about that. I don’t want anything to happen to Ben and my friendship.” Mallory said.
“It might be weird for a while, but once some time passes, I think everything will be okay.” Patrick said.
“So, let's get this conversation onto something else. This is kind of depressing.” Mallory said as she smiled.
“Yeah, it is. So, what do you have planned for the spring semester? I know in the past you have always concentrated on volleyball, but since it is our senior year, I was thinking you might try out for the softball team. I know you are good from the way you play in the spring and summer leagues.” Patrick said.
“I was thinking about doing that. It could be fun and it would give me something to do.” Mallory said.
“I think Aunt Jenn would welcome you with open arms. She could use someone who is just as good as Christine.” Patrick said.
“Speaking of, here she comes now.” Mallory said as she saw Jenn round the corner dressed in just her bra, panties, and boots just like the day before.
“I thought you two would never wake up. I came down to the theater room this morning and saw you four sitting in the love seat all cuddled together under blankets. I was really kind of jealous.” Jenn said with a smirk.
“We will make sure to invite you next time, Aunt Jenn.” Patrick said.
“Make sure you do. So, what were you two just talking about?” Jenn asked.
“I mentioned that I might try out for the softball team this year.” Mallory said.
“Oh, that would be great. We could always use some more good players. We could even use Sasha and Sabel if they are interested. They might not be as good as you and Christine, but they are still good.” Jenn said.
“We will talk to them once the trip is over. I don’t think they would have a problem with it since the cheer/dance competitions will be over by then.” Mallory said.
“Sounds good. I will see the two of you later. And don’t forget that you owe me something some time today, nephew.” Jenn said as she winked at Patrick and then took off running again.
“Damn, I wish I had an ass like that.” Mallory said as she and Patrick finally turned away from Jenn and started their walk again.
“There’s nothing wrong with your ass. It’s so firm from all of the sports you play. I would say that you are one of my favorite asses out of all of my girls.” Patrick said as he put his hand on her ass to make his point.
“You just say that because I let you fuck it sometimes.” Mallory said with a smirk.
“That helps as well, but no, I’m serious. You have one of the best asses out of all of my girls.” Patrick said.
“If you say so. You have a nice ass too, baby.” Mallory said as she slapped his ass.
“Like I just said, exercise helps with that.” Patrick said.
“It definitely does.” Mallory said.
“So, you are planning on going skiing today right?” Patrick asked.
“As far as I know. I might change my mind after what happens when I get back to the cabin. I think I need to have that talk with Ben as soon as possible.” Mallory said.
“Well, if you aren’t feeling up to it, I don’t mind staying at the cabin with you.” Patrick said.
“I’m not going to be the reason that you lose a day of skiing. You go with everyone else. I will be fine if I decide to stay at the cabin.” Mallory said.
“There’s one thing that you don’t understand. You are more important to me than skiing. If you are hurting, I don’t mind staying at home at all. It’s what best friends are for and also what couples are for.” Patrick said.
“I just don’t want you to be upset that you missed out on a day of skiing because of me.” Mallory said.
“It’s not like we won’t be up here again in the future. There is plenty of time for skiing. It’s not like we are old or anything.” Patrick said.
“I hope that everything goes okay, so we don’t have to worry about staying at home anyway.” Mallory said.
“I’m sure it will. You also probably know that Sasha and Sabel will probably stay as well.” Patrick said.
“That’s what I’m afraid of.” Mallory said.
“They love you just as much as I do. When you hurt, we all hurt.” Patrick said.
“You don’t think Kim or Kelly would stay?” Mallory asked.
“They love you too, but they don’t know you like Sasha and Sable do.” Patrick said.
“That’s a good point. Well, we’re about where we turned around yesterday. We better get back to the cabin so I can get this talk over with.” Mallory said.
“If that’s what you want. We can always go a bit further.” Patrick said.
“No, I need to get this over with. The sooner I do, the sooner this weight on my shoulders will be off of them.” Mallory said.
“Well, in that case, let’s head back then.” Patrick said as the two of them turned around and walked back toward the cabin.
When they reached the front door, Patrick opened it for Mallory and then he grabbed her wrist as she walked in and said, “Find me when you are done. I will be with the others in our room.”
Mallory nodded and walked into the house so that she could talk to Ben and have this conversation that needed to be had so that she could get on with her life and not feel bad for the way she was not spending time with Ben on this trip anymore. She knew that this was going to be difficult, but she knew that it had to be done.
