A Cookout and then a Game

You and Bobby take advantage of your uncle being out of town and the nice weather. You have the girls come over for a late supper of burgers from the grill and wine or beer. You all start drinking before the burgers are off the grill and are fairly buzzed by the time it is starting to get dark and cooling off outside. All four of you go to the basement apartment area and Karen comes up with an interesting twist on some old games.

"Let's play 20 Truth or Dare questions in a Hat.", Karen suggests.

"You're drunk. You got them all mixed up.", Amber teases her.

"I'm not that drunk and I don't have them mixed up. It's a new game I'm making up.", Karen replies.

"How do you play?", You ask.

"Well, we keep each game to a total of 20 questions as part of the old 20 questions game although that number is where the similarity ends with that game. Every question will be Truth or Dare but we will pick them out of a hat going around in a circle and there is no decision on whether you get a Truth or Dare, it's what you draw. We each write five questions on half sheets of printer paper and fold them up. We will mark T or D on the paper depending on which question it is. Because of the odd number five, we will roll dice, Amber and I and you and Bobby, so it is fair among the genders five of each from us girls and same from you guys. High roll writes three Dares and two Truths and low roll, two Dares and three Truths. We might draw our own Truth or Dare, something to think about when writing them.", Karen explains.

She continues by saying, "Dares that involve doing some things will require rolling the dice for how many times you do it. I don't want to explain that one as I don't want to give away any questions of mine. We are on our honor not repeat a question of our own but maybe you two boys think alike on some things and things will be repeated. Amber and I are close as sisters and we will probably also repeat but that's okay it's part of the game."

"I'll play.", Says Bobby.

"You should know I'm in." You say.

"Amber?", She nods to Karen's question then Karen adds, "One more thing, we girls aren't going to be together writing these and you boys are in separate corners writing your questions."

You and Amber get the high rolls and each have to write three Dare questions. You all use black pens copy paper and agree to print but also agree it'll be pretty easy to figure out who wrote which question. Amber pointed out it's not like you wouldn't know who was asking the question if you got to choose which kind of question when it was your turn in the regular game. You all agree to put your names on the papers in case you forget what you did.

You add one more twist to the game. You get 10 red playing cards and 10 black playing cards and put them in an old ball cap. Red cards are Truth, black cards are Dare. Playing cards are used in just a few other games and adds to the whole idea of combining several games. You shuffle the papers (as best you can) in the Truth pile and the papers in the Dare pile. You put the piles on a coffee table that is between two loveseats in the small old apartment area in the basement of your uncle's house.
