A Break

Kagiyama pulls his arm enveloped in water back. He gets ready to attack Innu who's struggling to hold back the fish creature. Before Kagiyama attacks, Innu lets go of her sword. The fish that was biting down on it carries it away, before crashing into one of the walls. Innu lunges for Kagiyama and punches him in the face. He tried to block, but was caught off guard. He stumbles backward causing the water to disperse. Innu presses her advantage, punching him in his chest. He raises his hands to block, causing Innu to kick his knee. He buckles before Innu grabs his wrists. She opens her mouth to breathe fire again. Water envelops his arms and he tries to free himself. He can't escape her grip and gets consumed by her flames. The flames swirl again, consuming both of them. Innu jumps back as the flames shrink. They don't disperse, but they get smaller. After a few moments, Kagiyama can be seen again. He's wrapped in flames, similar to those straight jackets I've seen on TV. He tries to break out before Innu kicks him in his chest. He falls back and lands on the ground. He struggles against the flames again, using water this time. Water appears above him and gets poured onto the flames. They make a sizzling sound, but they only seem to grow from the water.

"I give!" Kagiyama shouts out. The crowd erupts in cheer as Innu releases Kagiyama. The two shake hands as Asamis Minotaur hands Innu her sword back.

"That was another splendid match you two! Innu, will you be continuing in the next match?" Asami asks.

"Yes I will!" Innu says happily.

"Great, now before we continue, we're going to take a quick break to fix the arena! It'll only take a few minutes so don't go anywhere!" Asami says into the microphone. Almost immediately I sense the device that fixes the arena activate. I see Innu running over to me. She uses her wings to jump up to the stands.

"Master, did you see! I won!" Innu says to me.

"I did, congratulations." I say before petting her. She smiles before seeing something behind me and getting up. I turn and see Luna walking over to us. "How are you holding up Luna?" I ask her.

"Fine, Gaia healed the injuries. But she said to take it easy for the rest of today. I broke a few ribs, and if I move around too much the magic holding them together could fail. Meaning they'll break again." Luna replies.

"Luna! I won!" Innu tells her causing Luna to smile.

"Congratulations. I wish I could say the same." Luna says with a slight pout before sitting next to me. Innu sits back down on my other side.

"You may not have won Luna, but you were still really impressive. Besides, my Gramps or Larion is stronger than most of the others here. Yet you still injured him badly enough to not be able to participate in another match." I say while petting her. She smiles upon hearing this.

"Yeah, and how you jumped off the air like that, it was really cool! How'd you do that?" Innu asks.

"It's a spell Sparks learned this morning. It allows him to walk on air. I'm not sure how it works, I just know it uses a lot of mana. Verona told me it'll use less as Sparks gets used to it. But for now, I can only use it to dodge." Luna replies. Asami starts the next match. It's between a Silver Garden and Blue Lotus member. I don't recognize either of them. "Alpha, who are you fighting next?" Luna asks.

"It'll be Innu." I say after thinking it over. "Nick and Lakey drew, so neither of them will continue. You injured my Gramps too much to continue. That only leaves Innu." I say as the match finishes. It was a close one, but the person who won doesn't continue. Out of curiosity I Observe him and see he's down to a quarter of his mana.

"You'll be sparing with me tomorrow!" Luna says causing me to chuckle. I tell her I will as Asami starts the next match.

"This next match is going to be a special one. Both participants requested that they fight one another. So without further ado, this match will be between Myla, the Silver Garden Heiress, and Hino, the Blue Lotus Heiress!" Asami says into the mic. Both Hino and Myla walk out of the same entrance. They hurry into place and Asami asks if they're ready.

"Yeah, let's do this Hino!" Myla says.

"I've been waiting for today Myla." Hino says with a nod. Asami starts the match before jumping back. Myla points her sword at Hino, as it gets enveloped in light. I don't sense her casing a spell or using mana. That's right, she has the King of Light's Blade that we found in the first Ruins. It can absorb light and use it to attack. I think as Myla draws water from both of the pouches on her hips. The water gathers in the air in front of her and turns into a shield. Myla pulls her sword back before thrusting it at Hino. A light beam travels through the air crashing into Hino's water shield. The water absorbs the light before splitting it up. Multiple smaller beams shoot out of the sides of the water shield. Once the light beam stops Hino rushes Myla. She gathers the water around her arms, using them to create more armor. She's keeping the water close to her hands to make it easier to attack. But at the same time, she's using it for defense until she's ready to attack. I think with a smile as Hino gets to Myla. She punches her, hitting Mylas's shield as she blocks. Hino keeps attacking, forcing Myla to stay on the defense.
