A Awkward Encounter

The world around us starts to crack and splinter apart. After a few minutes the world returns to normal. Asami looks around with wonder, when a thought pops into my head.

"Wait, Asami what about your ears? Can you hide those? And your tail too." I say turning to her. She turns to me with a sad and worried look on her face.

"D-do you not like them!? You think there ugly don't you?" She starts talking faster and faster. I start laughing at her.

"No, no I just mean that others will notice them. And also, rude question, but what are you?" I tell her trying to calm her down.

"O-oh, sorry. But yes I can hide them." She says bringing her hands up to her cat ears. When she removes them her cat ears are gone. "There, we beast men can hide our extra features like this." She then looks up at me blushing and determined. "S-so what do you think of my ears."

I look at her blushing face for a moment before patting her on her head and saying, "there cute." She immediately turns around and starts walking. I notice her tail is gone as well, probably tucked under her skirt. "Hey!" I holler at her. "I live this way!" I point to the path opposite of her. She turns and I see her entire face beet red.

"Um r-right Eric, lets go." She mutters. I start leading the way back home while she follows closely. On the way I notice people looking at Asami. I start the sense the stares of others looking at me and staring daggers into my back. I see a mew notification in my mail box and open it.

New skill: Sense Presence Lvl 1, Passive

Sense Presence allows you to sense others letting you know whos watching or not. Creates a small eye icon in your upper field of view. The number in the pupil displays the number of people watching you.

Once we get to my apartment building, I see Claire standing by her door.

"Asami." I whisper. "Follow my lead." She nods and I walk to my apartment door. Claire steps towards me and starts talking.

"Hey, Eric how..." She looks to Asami. "Who is this?"

"This is Asami, she's a... relative. She's going to be staying with me for a while." I tell her. She looks at Asami for a moment.

"Oh, why is that? Is anything wrong? Or do you need any help?" The way she asked if I needed help felt odd to me.

"No, but thanks for asking. I think we'll be fine." I say grabbing Asami and pulling her into my apartment.

"Who was that?" Asami asked me.

"That was Claire, she's my neighbor and she's pretty nice. She's helped me out a lot before." I tell her while showing her around. I show her the small apartment, a small kitchen with the basics, a microwave, fridge and freezer, sink and dishwasher. The small Livingroom with a two person couch, coffee table, bookshelf and tv. Finally I show her the bathroom, containing a toilet, medicine cabinet and shower.

"What's that room?" She asks looking at my bedroom door. She's taken her cat ears back out.

"That's my bedroom, here this is yours." I tell her showing her the guest room to the left of my bedroom door. She stares at it for a moment before walking in and looking around.

"A-are you sure? I-I get my own room!?" She asks turning to me, I'm standing in her doorway.

"Of course, I'm not making you sleep on the floor." She looks to me before taking a deep breath and asking me to sit with her on her new bed.
