What do you do?
8.2.b Take advantage of the situation to attempt an escape
The moment your interlocutor leaves to fetch something, you seize the opportunity to slip away discreetly.
You exit the establishment and break into a run, praying no tavern workers spot you.
Someone shouts, "STOP HIM!" but you ignore it, sprinting without looking back.
After running for what feels like ages, you pause to catch your breath, only to hear approaching horses. Desperate, you scramble for cover in the darkness, ducking behind a fallen log.
The horses draw nearer. Sweat drips down your neck. For a moment, it seems they'll pass by, until a man barks: "Halt! There, by the log!"
You leap up to flee, but it's too late. A net entangles you, leaving no escape.
They haul you like a sack of potatoes across a horse's back to a small town. In the central square, they gag you and bind you completely, hands locked in wooden pillory, legs spread-eagled.
A herald announces: "For the crimes of theft after receiving shelter and cowardly flight, this wretch shall endure three days of public humiliation, and serve as communal relief for carnal urges!"
Thus begins your punishment. Day after day, strangers violate every orifice while restraints render you helpless.

The sun scorches your skin by day; nighttime brings biting cold. Your body stiffens, muscles screaming, and sleep is impossible. No food. No water. Only endurance...
By the third day, thirst drives you to hallucinations. Finally, exhausted, your eyes close one last time.
BAD ENDING: DEATH BY DEHYDRATION
