Fucking Olympics on TV. Track. Cameron watched anyway. Some of her friends had made it there. Good girls and boys who had followed through with their parents torture.

Cameron woke at 4 AM from childhood for training. Not now though. But back then, Father had her up at crack of dawn running laps and doing pushups. She was going to be a star in his eyes, and when she said no — he tried to ruin everything.

Here is the brutal truth - not everyone makes it - and even when they do, they don’t.

The olympics. Her friends were doing well. Some making it close to medals. 4th. That’s gotta hurt. It didn’t occur to her how much it hurt, until Maggie Linders — that 4th place legend jumped off a bridge. Dead.

It was on the news. Her heart sank. Cameron got out just before it was terminal. But she had been on that road before. A road to hell.
