Chapter 16

Does Carol sign? And what happens with Cindy, Karen, and Sophie?

…Stays in Vegas

“This is Sophie?” Asked Karen in shock.

“Yes, I’m Sophie. And considering the state of you two, it’s safe to say that you met my sister?” Sophie sounded somewhat annoyed.

“Yes, we do know Carol. In fact, we traveled with her to find you here.”

“So she can take me back home?” She spoke coldly.

“Yes, and speaking about ‘home’…” asked Cindy. “Carol claims you two are from the future. Is this true?”

Sophie stared wide-eyed at her. Then, she covered up her mouth up. “W-whhaaat? That’s crazy. She’s crazy. You’re crazy.”

“Sophie?” Karen crossed her arms, glaring at the girl.

“Fine, we are from three-hundred years into the future, which wasn’t something she should’ve confessed so easily, unless she wants to screw up the timeline.” Groaned Sophie.

“I-I can’t believe it.” Said Karen.

“I know right, they ARE from the future!” Answered Cindy.

“But where is she, anyway?”

“Yeah, that’s a bit of a situation…” Spoke Cindy uncomfortably.

Carol was deep in thought about the contract. The odds of finding Sophie on the first day were low, and she really needs a place to stay and sleep. And it wasn’t like she has any issues with her nudity.

“I’ll do it.” She spoke with determination.

“Excellent!” Smiled Margot. “Now, please sign here, please.”

“YOU WANTED TO ABANDON MY SISTER IN THE DESERT?!” Yelled Sophie.

“Hold on, I’m not gonna say that it was right,” said Karen defensively. “But you can’t play the moral high ground either, missy! You left her centuries in the past.”

“At least she couldn’t die of dehydration in our home!”

“Stop it, you two!” Said Cindy, standing between the two. “We need to find Carol before she gets into trouble, if she isn’t already.”

“Fine, but how are we gonna find her?”

“It’s a naked woman riding on a white horse, I don’t think there are many of those in Vegas.” Spoke Sophie sarcastically.

“Fair point.”

“Now, please get that smell off of you, you two smell atrocious.” Sophie crouched down to get the tomato juice, when her shirt snagged down on a trashcan, exposing her stomach. “OH MY GOD, STOP LOOKING AT ME!”

Cindy spoke confused. “What the- it’s only your stomach! Are you that prudish?”

“I DON’T CARE! DON’T LOOK!”

Can they calm Sophie down?
