Alex’s body froze up again, his every muscle refusing to obey him as he watched his sister write in the Rulebook.

When his sister finished writing with a flourish, he felt himself shift. As his eyes weren’t under his control either he wasn’t able to see what happened to him, but he did notice that he shrank, his eye level now putting him in line of sight with Casey’s chin.

A cold chill travelled down his spine when he say Casey smirk at him, fire in her eyes. “Now, Alex, things are going to be changing,” she started, attempting to sound comforting. “This is a point in your life where your body is starting to change. Trying to convey anger without being able to make any expression was difficult, but Alex assumed he did a good enough job of it if Casey bursting into laughter was any indication.

“Haha, oh I couldn’t keep that up for the life of me,” she chuckled. “No, but things really will be changing for you. You are free to move, but are unable to step within five feet of me.” He unfroze, his body stepping back out of his control as he was closer than five feet to Casey.

“What did you do?” Alex demanded, before his hand shot to his throat. “What the…” His voice wasn’t the average tones he was used to, but rather a softer, higher pitched sound. Rushing over to a nearby mirror, he stared in shock at what had been done to him.
