The whole thing does sound a touch sketchy, and most certainly weird, but who are you to say no?!? The opportunity for so much money, simply for something you might’ve done anyways? It’d be insane to turn down.

You did briefly wonder about the legitimacy of getting the money, but with such technology, why would they need to scam you into something? The screen shown alone would be worth trillions, and would set anyone up for life, not to mention the subtle hints to other things this system could do.

The moment the button is pressed your world briefly flashes, and you immediately know your world will likely never be the same. Within your vision, at the very corner of your focus, was something new. The moment you thought about it, these new items pulled up fully where you could see them, showing off a simple yet obviously high tech heads up display. The time is in the corner, the temperature outside, and a short list of options showing, now that it’s in front of you.

Briefly you wonder how to get it to go away, and it immediately faded back to the corner of your vision. Again, you wonder if you can open it at will, and at command it’s back in front of you. This time you open a blinking option, and pull open a tab names ‘SYSTEM NOTIFICATIONS’.

WELCOME TO THE NNN CHALLENGE USER. YOUR FIRST CHALLENGER WILL ARRIVE TOMORROW. SELECT AN ARRIVAL BENEFIT FROM THE ENHANCEMENTS TAB, AND PREPARE FOR THE MONTH. CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR YOUR FIRST RULESET.

END SYSTEM NOTIFICATION*

The message sends a touch of dread shooting through you. It mentioned challengers, enhancements, rulesets?!? What the fuck! You thought this would be easy, but it’s sounding like there’s more to it, which should’ve been obvious. Still, there’s nothing to be done now but to check out these so called enhancements and best whatever challenger you’ll see tomorrow. Maybe this’ll all be a fever dream, but you have a feeling it’s not. Tentatively you click into the second tab, that you somehow instinctively know is the enhancements tab, finding four options in a setup that looks a lot like a skill tree, though you can’t see any of the further options. I guess it’s decision time.

*WRESTLING I: INCREASE YOUR WRESTLING SKILL BY 30%.*

You’ve never really wrestled much, so 30% might not be much… but maybe you’ll need it for these challengers? Who knows how much fighting will play into this whole thing.

*STAMINA I: INCREASE YOUR STAMINA BY 15%.*

Stamina is maddeningly vague, but it’s an upgrade you’re sure would be good, regardless of the circumstances.

*HEAD I: INCREASE THE PLEASURE OTHERS RECEIVE FROM YOUR HEAD BY 20%*

As vague as Stamina was, head is equally obvious. Sexual contests would certainly go better. But how would that even help you?!? You immediately discard the idea. This is about YOU lasting, not vice versa.

*APPEARANCE 1: INCREASE WOMENS PHYSICAL ATTRACTION TO YOU BY 30%*

Another upgrade that’s just hard to quantify. There’s obvious positives here, but it’s hard to imagine just how this would play into the challenge.
