Ash rolled her eyes and met the half-elf's glare with a scowl of her own. "You're awfully optimistic. Seems to me like our situation just got a whole lot worse, not better." She sat up and shuffled backwards to rest her back against the cell wall. "You should be praying they don't find us, but instead you're like a turkey hollering for the chefs."

Ash did her best to look unassuming as she sat in the corner, but brought her knees up with her feet flat on the floor so she was ready to stand and fight at a moment's notice. At least the dumb bitch rattling the bars would be an easy first choice for the orcs to take, that should give Ash and the other prisoners a window of opportunity.

She flexed her fingers. She felt revitalised after the rest, top of her game in fact, and it felt like her connection to the fire plane might be slowly recovering back to normal. But when she tried to squeeze out the power, she still couldn't muster more than a fireball the size of a pea. It wouldn't be enough to handle a scrum of orcs, but at least she had one advantage over them compared to the dwarves.

They didn't yet know what she was capable of.
