What case occupies your mind?
[Original Route] The Disappearance of a regular Client
When Mindy didn't call, you knew something was wrong. The woman in her mid-fourties basically comes by every week or at least leaves you a voice message. She's in a troubled relationship with her second husband, to put it mildly. She suspects him of criminal activity, cheating on her, among a boatload of other things. She's unhappy and worried and set you on her husband to get some closure before eventually planning to file for divorce. She was a somewhat average if involved case, even providing some much needed levity with her sense of humor and sharp wit helping you with some other cases in the past. She's as close to a friend as you can probably allow yourself to have in this line of work.
You're mulling over her file with a cup of coffee at your thin soft lips. You do not know what happened to her yet, but you've got a hunch. You already know that George, her husband, is involved in illicit **** trafficking and has some shady connections all over town. Not your average criminal but far from a big fish. You are almost sure he has never spotted you during your observations but this whole situation makes you somewhat uneasy. He could have found out she's looking to divorce or something entirely unrelated could have thrown Mindy's life into jeopardy. You do know that you have to find out. There's a few steps you can likely take. Mindy's nice suburban home is of course one way to do it, if a bit risky. Speaking of risky, there is always the possibility she met her fate in the BOVIUM Compound right outside of town. She used to work as a sales representative for them before cutting ties with the company over undisclosed moral concerns. From what you've heard, BOVIUM does not take kindly to betrayal.
There's also her first Husband Ed, a habitual alcoholic but otherwise alright guy who kept in semi-consistent contact with her past their ****-related divorce. You know for a fact that she has two children roughly close to your own age. A son and a daughter that have already moved out since turning adult. You could try to reach out to them but you'd need their contact information first.
Where do you begin?
