Chapter 25 by lady-lux lady-lux

What does Lux choose?

[NPC] Sylvia, the Hamadryad

The Queen of the Valley, mother to dryads, embodiment of nature’s protective and nurturing aspects.

Sylvia is a tall, statuesque woman with skin almost as pale as Lux’s, and a cascade of deep golden hair, the colour of autumn leaves. Her eyes are pale blue, and convey a sense of confidence, of authority, of majesty – her face has a timeless, otherworldly beauty that Lux recognises from Willow and Juniper, but somehow more pronounced here. Despite the dismal surroundings of the maze, her long silk gown is white as snow, spotless; and her chamber in the heart of the maze is an oasis of life and beauty.

As the Hamadryad, Sylvia embodies everything that is missing from the imbalanced valley: kindness, wisdom, nurturing love. Benevolent as she may be, though, her role as queen is a heavy responsibility, and the seed of Juniper’s harsh pragmatism lies within her. Of course, she also has needs of her own, and isn’t immune to the haze of lust that covers this hidden world. She may just be a little better at resisting it, assuming she doesn’t turn out to share her daughter Willow’s appetite for small women with big tits.

Primal elemental magic is at her fingertips, and to sever her from it would kill her - at least in the temporary sense that a being like her can die. As a result, the maze and its guardian have been designed to contain her while keeping her magical abilities intact, which leaves her in a position to save Lux when few others could.

Where to now?
