Does Lux give her name?
[NPC: Atara]
Human, late fifties.
Atara's role in the underground complex is somewhere between that of an administrator and a priestess. She has a strong affinity for the technology of the Great Machine, and knows its systems inside and out. Age has gradually tempered her once-blind faith in the Machine's pronouncements; today, she is pragmatic and critically-minded.
At the time when most of the outcasts were exiled from the complex, Atara was in her thirties or so, in a less senior position. She has come to doubt the wisdom of some of the banishments, and regrets that she did not add her voice to those who objected. Atara has spent a small amount of time on the surface over the decades, and knows a little more about the outside world than most of her peers.
Atara stands about 5' 3" tall with a slim build. She has sharp, defined features that accentuate her default accusatory gaze. Her left eye was lost in an accident many years ago while repairing volatile machinery, and was replaced with a techno-magical prosthesis that further links Atara's awareness to the various mechanisms around her. Hardened by past experience, she is a tough, resourceful survivor.
