As far as Mrtve could see, there were no other threats lurking nearby. She should be safe to finish her relaxation in peace. The lizalfos slowly bobbed past her, floating motionless on his back and staring up into the sky as he worked through some kind of internal existential crisis.

As she turned her head, a flash of golden light beamed her in the eye, just for a moment. She paused, and slowly turned her head back the other way... and there it was again! As long as she held her head at a specific angle in a specific position, she discovered that she was in the perfect location to catch the sun's reflection off of something reflective lying in the sand back on the beach.

A swim closer revealed the glinting object to be some kind of yellow gemstone the size of her hand, perfectly cut into an irregular hexagonal bifrustum. It was half-buried in the sand, so close to the water's edge that it dipped beneath the surface every time the waves rolled in. Had someone dropped it here, or had it flowed in on the tide? Either way, it looked valuable...
