[3.7] Ghosts, Visions and the Apex

{flashback to the event.}

Draxus and Ashara finally arrived at Baratia in the Julevian system. As their starship descends to the planet Draxus comes out of the meditation chamber shouting for Ashara. “She is here I can feel her.” He says on the bridge looking down at the planet. “Are you sure Master? If she is who you say she is why is she here? There is no life on this rock.” Ashara says leaning at the door leering at the planet surface. “Calm yourself and you will be able to feel her spirit also.” Draxus responds not looking up. “Niko, take us in.” and they begin their approach.

Draxus guides his pilot to a mount range near an active volcano. “She is in there.” He points to a holographic rendering of the planet’s surface. As they land Ashara is visited by her elder Kalatosh in their shared living space while she is packing for the trip “My kin, before you do this I have something to tell you, if you will listen.” He says appearing behind her. “I do not have time for your persistent riddles. Thank you but no.” She says walking through him and before she leaves he says “If your master takes this ghost, he will die.” This stops Ashara dead in her tracks “What do you mean, what have you saw?” she asks her elder with fear in her voice. “While your master, lover (Ashara blushes) is powerful his walk with this ghost will take his life. It may not be today but it will happen “he says gravely. While Ashara is acutely away of her master’s power and have seen him walk with equally if not greater ghosts and recovered/thrived this shakes her to her core. [What should I do] she thinks to herself. As the ship lands she looks to her elder “He is my master first but my love always. While I cannot disobey him I cannot stop him because it’s his passion I love about him.” She says to her elder with steeled reason. “I understand and I only deliver the word.” Kalatosh says as he disappears. Truths weighing on Ashara’s mind as she follows her master and HK-55 to the meeting place. “Ashara, I feel your trepidation. What is wrong?” Draxus asks as they enter the cave. “I am fine master. I know you are going to keep going until I tell you but I’m fine.” Ashara responds knowing her master. Draxus knowing better keeps it to himself. Forging ahead they enter the cave and before them sits a young lady, younger than Ashara. “Why are you here?” the spirit asks. “I received a vision and was guided to you.” Draxus respond as he walks closer. “I sense other spirits tied to you. Why?” she asks. “I have never seen a mix like you before? What is your name child?” Draxus asks as he takes a knee next to her. “I am Pin Torehin” Pin responds.

“Where are you from?” Draxus asks

“I don’t know” Pin responds

“That is strange; How long have you been here, have you always been here alone?” Draxus asks surveying the essence

“Again, I don’t know” Pin responds nervously

Draxus thinks on this a while and finally says “I need to meditate on this. We are going back to the ship, I want you and the crew to do some research on this planet.” He says but before they leave the spirt leaps after Draxus. “Please don’t leave, you are the first visitor I have had since I woke up here.” she says. “I am only going to the ship child. I will not be leaving so soon.” He says to Pin but as he speaks he can feel a disturbance. Something is telling him to stay and meditate. Looking back at his companions he tells them to go back while he stays but they refuse also. “My duty is to protect you master, I cannot protect you from the ship” HK says and Ashara responds with “My place is at your side master. I cannot leave you.” Draxus smiles internally but externally he simply sits, clears his mind and focus. During his meditation the spirit of his ancestor Kallig looks upon him and the spirit. “Tell me blood of my blood, what do you see?” he says. Draxus notices the visitor rises and bows before him. “Welcome, it has been a long time since we’ve spoke.” Draxus responds “I am not here for platitudes child, again I ask what do you see?” Kallig looks upon his descendant. “A **** spirit much like you and the others I have bound in the past.” Draxus says looking upon Pin and just as Kallig responds another visitor approaches. “I was wondering when he was going to see that?” Valkorion says walking behind Pin. Pin experiences something she has never felt before, fear. Valkorion looms over Pin and tells her not to worry, nothing will happen to her. As she calms Valkorion walks back to Draxus “Do you not sense her power? Search through the ****. She is stronger than I am.” He says dismissively. “What?” Draxus says as he looks back to Pin. He knew of her Miraluka heritage that she was exceptionally **** Sensitive but he couldn’t feel her power. “I cannot sense her power.” He finishes. “Child show him” Valkorion says before he disappears. “With that power comes a powerful cost. I hope you are ready.” Pin comes over to Draxus and raises her hand shakily. “Please don’t hurt me.” She whispers as she makes contact with Draxus’s forehead. Upon contact Draxus sees everything……including his ****. Recovering from the shock Draxus looks at his elder. Kallig simply crosses his arms and states “There are greater plans in motion here. I will be with you every step of the way blood of my blood.” Draxus turns and says to Pin “If you will I would like for you to walk with me. I don’t want your power as much as I want you. You do not deserve to be here alone and if you come with me you will never be alone again.” He says drawing a knife. “If you accept I will spill my blood allowing you to bind with me.” Pin looks among the present: A beautiful alien, android, and someone who looked like her. “Will it hurt” she asks. “For you, never again.” Draxus says as he holds out his hand to her. Pin grips it to rise from the floor and with that she binds herself to Draxus. “Thank you for this but your promise will be broken.” She says Draxus asks why curiously and she responds with a sad tone “Just as I began so must I end.”
