(Silly Scene 14) A Tropical Talk

In this scene you catch us sitting reclined in beach chairs looking out over a perfect tropical blue ocean. The weather is sunny and hot and there is hardly a cloud in the sky. The Cerulean of the water and the sky nearly blending together. Just the hint of a breeze rustling the tropical flora behind us. On a small table between us were two cold beers, frosted and dripping with condensation.

I am wearing bright blue and green trunks while Chloe is wearing a very revealing string bikini which leaves little of her tight petite body to the imagination. Her secret safe as ever since in this internal world of mine I made sure nobody else was within miles of us.

She looks over her shoulder and sees you, a glum look on her face despite the perfect surroundings. "Oh, they're here." She says, more than a hint of insolence in her voice.

I tut-tut her with a waving finger. "Now now my dear, behave yourself."

She crosses her arms and turns away from you in a huff and goes into a full pout. "Well I thought I was a pretty damn good nurse. I don't care what they say." She mumbles under her breath. "Besides a couple of them."

I smile. "You were the best nurse. The very best. It wasn't you babe."

The pair of us sit in the shade of the palms, we are just laying back and soaking in the tropical heat. Chloe's pout soon subsides, her crossed arms relax and her hands come together. Her fingers play nervously together as she builds up her confidence to broach what she wanted to talk about.

She says quietly. "So, um...you're slowing down you said?"

I lay relaxed, eyes closed as I listen to the gentle sounds of the surf and the wind. "Mmm hmm. That's right Chloe. I'm starting to look into a few things. My writing time is going to be taken up with other projects for a while."

"Oh, okay." She says at almost a whisper, her eyes avoiding looking right at me. "Are...are we going to do these scenes anymore?"

I open my eyes and look over to her, I can see she is hurting. "I don't know Chloe, we'll have to see how it goes."

"Okay." She says. "I'll...I'll miss you Grim." Her voice wavers as she sniffles and swipes a finger under her glasses to wipe a tear from her eye.

I sit up then move over to her long sturdy beach chair. I sit by her outstretched legs facing her and take one of her hands in mine as my other rests on her soft thigh. "I'm not leaving. I just won't be around as much."

She nods rapidly, biting her bottom lip she is fighting off tears. "Sure, okay. Okay Grim. If you say so." She obviously didn't believe it. "I'll...I'll always be here if you need me. Just waiting...for you..." Her words **** off in a little sob.

I smile gently as I cup her cheek in my hand. I take a moment to just stare at my little nerdy girl. "Come here you." I pull her in to a big encompassing embrace. Her small pale frame almost enveloped by mine. Her face nuzzles into my bare chest as she holds me tight with all her strength. I feel her glasses press into me almost to the point of bending or breaking, but she pays them no mind. She just held tight. I say with a soothing voice. "Hey, the next Silly Scene is due at the big 2 mil. I can't miss that one can I? We'll do at least one more of these."

She doesn't say anything and just holds on, her small hands gripping my back, not wanting to let go, never wanting to let go. I hold her to me a long long time, stroking her hair and her bare shoulder. Only the sounds of exotic bird song and the hiss of waves running up and back the beach around us.

Finally I carefully pull us apart. I look at her and kiss her tenderly. She has pulled herself together and gives me an almost bashful fragile little smile, it was a look I wasn't prepared for. She looked so...****. It was not what I was used to with my crazy little irrepressible Chloe. She just says. "Thank you Grim, for everything."

I shake my head. "No, thank you Chloe. You and your family really woke something inside of me. It's time I took my shot."

She nods, she understood it needed to happen, that I had to at least try. She then says, just loud enough to be audible, her big brown eyes seeing only me in this moment. "I love you."

"I love you too."

We are both smiling now, though with a touch of melancholy, and looking into each other's eyes. Minutes tick by. I finally break the silence. "Hey now, here we are in paradise. Let's have some fun. What do you want to do Chloe? Name it. Anything imaginable. I'll bend the rules of time and space if you want. We can ride unicorns or swim with mermaids, anything!"

She smiles wider. "Wow, anything huh? Well...if that's the case." She considers a moment. "Let's have sex!"

I burst out laughing. Of course that was her answer, it wouldn't be anything else. I motion toward your window with my chin. "Should we leave it open?"

She turns and gets up off of her chair and approaches your vantage point. She puts an extra sway in her step to highlight her sexy little body in her tight red bikini. "Not a chance." She says with a impish smile. Blowing you all a kiss she says. "Bye guys."

I continue my chuckle. "See ya around readers."
