Chapter 11

(Lock) Picking Solutions

Dylan silently berated herself as she ran down the alleyway. What the hell had she been thinking?! Now, instead of just streaking around town, she was streaking around town with literally everything on display and no way to actually cover up! And adding in the fact that she had now just knocked out two policemen in front of a small group of civilians, she was now being thrown into the proverbial fire right after escaping the proverbial frying pan!

And Charlie's life was still on the line!

Pausing for a moment to catch her breath, Dylan pressed herself against the alley wall and looked around. There just had to be a viable way out of this situation!

That's when she spotted a building across the street with a neon sign that read, "Jake's Chop Shop". Dylan smiled. This was it!

Quickly, Dylan sprinted across the street and towards the building, noticing a side garage door open as she threw herself inside. Once in the building, the naked agent looked around for a way to remove the handcuffs. However, no sooner had she taken a single step when she heard footsteps entering the garage.

In a panic, Dylan ducked down next to a car and rolled underneath it just as she heard a man enter the room. Holding her breath, she saw the man walk past the car, whistling to himself as he collected his keys, flipped off the lights and pressed a button on the wall before leaving, the garage door slowly closing with a small thud.

Dylan breathed a sigh of relief as she rolled out from underneath the car. After she struggled back to her feet, the agent walked over to the light switch, flipped it back on, and looked around for something to help her out of this situation.

There was a welding torch on a nearby desk, causing Dylan to smile as she walked towards it. Halfway there, however, she stopped as her smile faltered. Using a welding torch without the right gear was dangerous enough, but using it with her hands behind her back and completely naked?

The agent sighed as she continued to look around. That was when she saw a screwdriver on the desk as well.

"Beggars can't be choosers." Dylan muttered to herself as she turned around and grabbed the screwdriver with her hands.

After ten agonizing minutes, Dylan had successfully gotten one of the cuffs removed from her wrists, silently cheering as she pumped her still cuffed fist in the air.

Big mistake.

"Oh no..." Dylan groaned as she heard an all too familiar click. Looking at the handcuffs, the agent saw that she was now cuffed to a water pipe attached to the wall. Dylan muttered every curse word she knew under her breath as she tried to think of a way out of this one!

Fortunately, as the agent looked around, she noted a tub of vaseline on a nearby shelf. Struggling, Dylan reached out with her free hand, just barely touching it as she stretched as far as she could. After an agonizing minute, Dylan grabbed the jar and smiled. She scooped out a large glob of the vaseline and began to apply it to her cuffed wrist, lubricating her wrist as she pulled and tugged occasionally. After a few minutes of pulling, Dylan was finally able to get herself free.

Rubbing both her wrists as she dropped the vaseline at her feet, the naked woman let out a triumphant, "Yes!"

Big mistake.

That was when she heard yet another, all too familiar sound. Slowly looking to her left, the agent saw a large pitbull enter the garage, a low growl emitting from his throat.

"You have got to be freaking kidding me right now!" Dylan muttered in annoyance before the pitbull let out a series of barks, bounding towards her.

Dylan turned and ran, jumping onto the car to escape the dog. Unfortunately, the dog had the same idea as he jumped onto the hood of the car. Thinking quickly, Dylan looked up to see one of the hanging lamps above her before spotting an open window. Doing the calculations in her head, Dylan waited for the right moment as the dog prepared to lunge.

Now!

Dylan leapt into the air just as the dog jumped onto the car roof, clinging to the lamp with all her might while the dog barked repeatedly at her. The naked agent then began to swing back and forth on the lamp, building up momentum to swing herself out the window.

After a few dozen swings, Dylan believed she had reached the right momentum, swinging herself through the air above the dog and soaring right out the open window...

And face first into the bed of a passing garbage truck. With a groan, Dylan rolled onto her back, muttering, "Of course..."

Dylan merely sat up as she waited for the truck to come to it's next stop. Then she could get off and make her way to the rendezvous point, meet up with Alex and Nat (and kick their butts if either of them uttered one word about tonight), save Charlie, and pretend this whole nightmare of a night never happened!

However, not once did she notice or take into consideration that the truck was driving in the opposite direction of the rendezvous point...
