Pre-Test Briefing:
The Cloning Gun V1 is a handheld, pistol-grip replication emitter. Core mechanics: fires a focused quantum-entanglement beam that scans and instantiates a perfect physical duplicate of the target at the point of impact. Initial design parameters — single clone per shot, 60-minute active duration, non-sentient or low-sentience husk optimized for task assistance. Safety interlocks: biometric lock to authorized user, 30-second cooldown, auto-dissolution at expiry.
Subject 47-A (Lila) entered the chamber wearing the standard sensor bodysuit. She immediately complained it was “too restrictive” and removed the top half before I could complete the standard consent checklist. I noted elevated baseline arousal markers already present.
Test Sequence 1: Baseline Single Clone
At 14:28 I instructed Lila to aim the Cloning Gun V1 at a clear wall section and fire. She instead turned the emitter toward herself with a mischievous grin and pulled the trigger while running her free hand down her torso.
Result: Instant successful replication. A perfect, identical clone materialized 2 meters in front of her — same height, same features, same flushed skin tone, same aroused expression. The clone blinked, looked at the original, and they both smiled in perfect synchronization. “Hi me,” they said simultaneously.
I recorded flawless replication: full tactile fidelity, accurate memories up to the moment of creation, responsive nervous system. Vital signs matched within 0.3%. No anomalies detected in the first 8 minutes. The two Lilas performed basic coordination tests (mirroring movements, passing objects) without issue.
Test Sequence 2: Mirror Reflection Trial
At 14:41, per my request to test beam deflection, a large industrial mirror was lowered into the chamber. Original Lila handed the gun to her clone. They positioned themselves and fired the beam at the mirror at a 45-degree angle.
The reflected beam struck the original Lila. A third perfect clone appeared instantly. All three subjects reacted with visible delight. “It bounces! That’s so hot,” one of them said (impossible to identify which). They immediately began experimenting — firing at the mirror again, creating a fourth, then using body positioning to create chain reflections.
By 14:55 we had seven identical Lilas. All clones maintained perfect fidelity. Coordination remained exceptional; they appeared to share a low-level empathic link that increased in strength with proximity and… physical contact.

At approximately 15:05, the group discovered that mutual stimulation dramatically lowered the gun’s cooldown period. What should have been 30 seconds dropped to under 4 seconds when multiple Lilas were “encouraging” each other.

At 16:22, with the chamber approaching critical biomass density and structural strain warnings flashing, I activated the dissolution protocol. All clones began fading simultaneously. The effect was… visually striking. A wave of collapsing identical bodies, still intertwined.
The original Lila remained, breathing heavily, skin glistening, still holding the Cloning Gun V1. She gave a lazy salute and said, “Best toy yet, Doc.”

Personal Note:
The first gadget is undeniably a success. Marketing is going to love this. But watching dozens of perfectly identical, extremely enthusiastic Lilas overwhelm the chamber in real time was… professionally concerning and personally distracting. I have logged a request for additional psychological support staff for the observation team.
Subject 47-A has already asked when she can test the V2. She suggested adding “pleasure settings.” I am pretending I didn’t hear that.
