Chapter 6 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

Who..."

"Was it me...?"

“Can I…?”As he raised his hand, the entire event unfolded again, but instead of appearing, the vile man was splattered across the ground, in what the gleeful family could only assume was a spilled slushy, with Donovon’s alterations.

‘So… It was me…’

“That’s good...” Donovon had no major reaction, beyond the earlier disbelief, but this alone presented a sense of scale for him to compare.

Time… Already within his grasp. Reality? Only a matter of time… The might within Donovon’s reach was… Absurd.

Far beyond what should be possible, even for a victim of molecular reatomization. The greatest planets in the depths of the cosmos were but marbles to orbit his presence.

“Well… Let’s check it out, then…”

Donovon appeared somewhere in the universe, somewhere far from earth, far from any forms of sentient life. Donovon was infinitesimally small in comparison to the scale of it all, and even though, for him, to be larger was well within his skills, he’d never be capable of measuring up to its entirety.

But should he? Was that achievable? Who cares? Not Donovon, as he merely remained motionless in the wake of the cosmic rays of space, absorbing the radiation as though he was bathing in the light of a mere sun, tanning his immense form.

What should Donovon do?

He questioned his earlier motives, all throughout Donovon’s life, he had thoughts on if he’d gained powers. Everyone does…

But now. It's just not him anymore.

Donovon gained every power he could ever comprehend, but it replaced his humanity, and that was irreplaceable, and very much his mind had been altered. But… It WAS better.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t exist, right? And that’s a pretty big win, all things considered.

So… What should Donovon do with his nigh infinite cosmic power and wisdom?

Well, his first thought was making a place of his own.

So, Donovon chose to soar through the infinite abyss of space, taking nearly a year to find a place of pristine importance, in his cosmic eyes, as his gaze was upon a gargantuan sphere of some incredibly dense ice, five times the size of the planet which was orbiting him now.

But as Donovon landed upon the planet’s surface, he merely swept his hands to the side, as he altered the surface, from barren ice, to a significant portion of fruitful greenery. Many large patches of trees were scattered throughout the thousands of miles of verdant plains.

And then, another swipe of his palm, a mighty palace of ice pierced forth from the near infinite expanse of frozen, barren wastes.

Over a hundred miles high, the palace was truly immense, spreading over well over a hundred thousand miles, nearly a million rooms within, most assuredly that would go unused. And all of that was to surround the newly formed patch of verdancy protected within, as a veritable paradise of a courtyard.

Then, Donovon was within the throne room of his absurd palace, as he grew to ten thousand feet tall, to match the scale, but within the chamber, even his now equally absurd height was dwarfed within it.

And then, he raised his hand, and a throne of somehow molten ice rose from the ground, bubbling all the while, as it formed a significant seat for his now immense form.

And Donovon stepped forth, making his way to his throne, following his quaking steps, he turned around, and with a torrential wind following, he sat upon his throne.

But something was oddly different in the eyes of Donovon, as the planet was instantly completely within his sight, but not in a manner of painful overbearance, it was all comfortably within his gaze.

And then, his gaze expanded, as he saw his new planet from another perspective, from over a thousand miles away. And then, ten thousand. Then, a hundred thousand.

And then a million miles away, even though it should be nothing more than a marble from the distance, he could see every aspect of the planet he now called home, all the way down to his own expansive estate. The nearly infinite expanse of blue and white was all but lifeless, but after a moment’s thought, beings emerged forth from the snow and ice across the planet’s entirety, forming hundreds of thousands of semi-intelligent creatures.

And as they slowly developed under his gaze, over the course of a year, his second year away from Earth, the Snowmen had developed into a somewhat basic society, all gathering in the northern snowfields.

Oooh.
