People were crowding around the panicked Mercury, who was slowly calming down by the time her groom caught up. "She'll be fine now, she'll be fine. Just let me get her into her horse box."

"Er, shouldn't somebody be helping fish Debbi out of the river ?" remarked Samantha casually.

The point where Debbi had been pitched into the river was enclosed by a brick embankment and she was unable to clamber out unaided. "Get me out, it's bloody freezing" she yelled as faces began to peer down at her over the top. Sean was too busy filming and it was left to Charles and Avalon to procure a rope from the back of Mercury's horse box. The long blonde wig had disappeared in the flow and it was a somewhat bedraggled Debbi that emerged from the water, awkwardly straddling the embankment wall as she completed her exit.

"Hang on, I'll get a towel" called Avalon, as she hurried to the trailer that had been meant to be Debbi's dressing room at the end of her ride. Now that the horse had been pacified and found to be sound, the attention of the crowd was once more centered on the shivering naked woman. Sean wasn't sure how Charles would use this footage but he continued to shoot anyway and would leave any editing up to the director.

"Did you swallow any of the river water ?" asked Charles. "Don't think so" answered Debbi, teeth chattering. She was grateful for the towel and the minimum warmth and cover that it provided when Ava returned. "I still think we should take her to the hospital to check her over" said Solomon, who had arrived at scene and ascertained what had happened. "Can you take her ? We've got to finish up here and then start work on compiling the show ?" asked Charles. "Sure, no problem" said Solomon.

"I'm fine" protested Debbi as the black entrepreneur led her to his car. "There may be delayed shock, we can't take any chances" Solomon replied. "But my clothes ?" said Debbi, who remained clad only in the inadequate towel. "Someone'll bring them along" Solomon replied reassuringly.
