"My Life is Complicated !"

"My life is getting to be soooo complicated" complained Debbi. " I don't know what to do." She was sitting up naked in bed between Lawrence and Lesley. A meeting had been convened to review the current state of play. "First, there's this soap. They have to wait for my episode to go out and see if the fans like it but they're already talking about how to develop the character. Apparently, I'll be a college student who's supplementing her grant by stripping " she began. "But you're too old to be a student ?" Lawrence pointed out. "Oh that doesn't matter, almost everyone playing a teenager in a soap is a few years older" Lesley answered on behalf of her friend. " It sounds great !"

"Yeah, but the thing is, it's not such a glamorous lifestyle being in a soap" Debbi explained. "I'd have to spend days in a hotel in Leeds and it wouldn't be such a nice hotel as the one they splashed out on for my audition. Then there's getting up every morning at stupid o'clock to be on set." The friends sympathised. "Ideally, I'd like to just pop in and out for a few cameos but I'm not a big star or anything and can't make demands or put on conditions."

"Maybe it'll be like that anyway, only the main characters appear all the time" Lesley suggested. "Just wait and see what they decide and what they offer" said Lawrence.

"But that's not all. Then I got a call from Frank Lafferty" Debbi continued. "Who he ?" asked Lesley. "The manager of the team Roddy plays for. Apparently he's been playing crap ever since he 'broke up' with me."

"But that's ridiculous, no offence Deb. But he's gay isn't he ? Doesn't this Lafferty know that ?" exclaimed Lesley. "Well, he kind of tiptoed around it. But they're all terrified of the gay footballer tag. You know that's the reason why I was dragged in originally.

"What did you say ?"

"I said he still had the statues. Your statues !"

"Ah, my best work" laughed Lesley.

"Anyway, it seems Roddy still wants me to be besties with him, a kind of soul mate."

"So ?" asked Lawrence.

"So if I'm seen with him, I'll get all the Bimbo WAG tabloid stuff again, they'll start trailing me with the paparazzi again. If I get caught in bed with you two for instance, it'll be a big scandal etc, etc !"

"Decisions, decisions" said Lesley. "Indeed" said Debbi. "When does the soap episode go out ?" said Lawrence. "Next week, come round here and watch it" answered Debbi.

"For now, you need to relax and release tension" Lesley decided, diving beneath the covers. "Ooh" said Debbi !
