How does Melissa vote?
"I've been walking this beach in a black dress for an hour and more..."
Melissa is, as always, wearing her husband's USMC diving watch, which is waterproof to a depth of 10,000 ft, far deeper than any water it has been exposed to since she had it rebuilt after he was ambushed in Afghanistan and it returned to her with a bullet embedded in the face-plate. She looks at the time, as she does habitually when anywhere other than home and a significant event is taking place, and makes her reply.
"Actualy, we have already been away from the boats for an hour and 10 minutes, and as you may notice I have been walking along a black sand beach, in a black nylon frock, without complaint."
Bella smiles, sensing victory, but...
"Ergo, I also am closer than I would like to heat prostration, and think that turning around is an eminently sensible idea!" Melissa finishes, dashing Bella's plan to splinters.
"Good, it's settled then." Kelly states with a smile and the party turns around.
Does anything go wrong, or right: on the way back?
