"Hey you, you're finally awake..."

It slowly regained Its senses from the black void of whatever afterlife It had been in. The feeling wasn't quite lake waking up, more like Its vision slowly adjusting to a dark room, except for all of Its senses. As It became aware of Its surroundings, It did Its best to take note of them.

It stood in a clearing of a forest. Around it seemed to be the ruins of a stone structure, long crumbled aside from a single room behind It. Beyond that was simply trees as far as the eye could see. The ruins had no features It recognized, yet It awoke in a position as if It were a guardian of them.

Speaking of It, It seemed to be wearing some strange set of armor. It was like a strangely sharp set of knight's armor, the main part being matte black with dark silver accents. It was standing, clutching the handle of what seemed to be a great sword planted into the pedestal It stood on. It looked like some statue on display.

As It finished getting Its bearings, It began to hear noises in the forest. It knew those noises. Nothing made that much noise except humans. Its mind raced, ready to start the hunt when It realized Its situation. It was in the center of a clearing, no means of hiding for a trap or ambush. Its best chance was to hold Its pose and rely on the commonly idiotic humans to believe It a statue.

As the loud humans approached, It became able to hear their noisy bickering. "Are you sure about this? I don't know if we are properly prepared for a dungeon." A dungeon? The two lights had spoken of dungeons momentarily.

Another human scoffed at the first as they finally came into view, "I told you, it's not even a proper dungeon. Just some crumbling ruins with some skeletons in them."

It got a good look of the humans as they walked up to It. The first human who had spoken was wearing robes of some sort, the second one who spoke heavy shining armor, a third had a natural looking gown, and the last wore leather armor. The first one seemed very nervous; their fear gave It a good taste.

As the humans arrived in the ruin, the third one gave a polite bow to It, "I greet the Guardian."

The first one turned to the third, "W-wait, that thing is alive?" It tightened Its grip on the handle of Its blade, ready to fight if need be.

The fourth one shook their head, "No, the statue is simply a representation of the guardian of this site." This one bowed to It as well, It liked the feeling of being bowed to, but nowhere as near as much as It liked hunting. "It is a custom of the locals to bow and say, I greet the Guardian." The fourth human had addressed It when saying the phrase.

The first human scrambled into a bow, "I-I greet the Guardian." They seemed afraid of It, which was promising as It wasn't even hunting them yet. It could not wait to see how they behaved when they had a reason to be afraid.

The second human scoffed again, "I am not bowing to some statue. Now come on, we have loot to get." It didn't like this one.

The last two humans glared at the second, as the first one watched It fearfully. Nevertheless, they all proceeded towards the chamber behind It. As the other three went in, the first human took a place in the back, and It saw a good opportunity to invoke fear.

As the first one walked past It, It silently turned around, shifting Itself to face the door instead. When It was in position, It slid Its foot slightly to make a noise, causing the first human to turn around. When they saw It, their eyes went wide and they sprinted into the building.

As the human ran in, It could hear them screaming, "GUYS! IT MOVED!"

The second human simply scoffed again, It disliked how repetitive they were. The latter two shared some form of look before they descended the stairs. With one last fearful look between It and the stairs, the first human walked down the stairs backwards as to not let It leave their sight.

It waited until the sounds of them traveling through the area beneath quieted down to begin moving. At first, It was very much going to pursue them, but then It considered what It knew. At least two of the humans seemed knowledgeable about the area, meaning they would have the advantage in that regard. It had no idea what was down there, and could very well get lost. On the other hand, It could go into the forest, giving up on these prey and choosing to hunt something else.
