Chapter 10 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

What should I ask Cornelia if she's done?

"Have you ever played the part of the prosecutor?" (Pink Trigger)

"Cornelia, have you yourself ever played the part of prosecutor in one of these trials?"

"No... I've never actually played the part of prosecutor before. As you know, I've studied a lot with Gertrude and Dlanor. Usually, one of them takes the lead on any case we're called on."

Ah, yes. That makes sense. Well, there is no time like the present to start building that kind of background. Cornelia looked surprised when I told her I planned to have a mock trial... but maybe a bit excited too. She was probably already picturing the excitement of telling her troop-mates, who were a bit like older sisters to her, how she learned to prosecute a real court case.

At this point, I noticed that the courtroom was clear of foot traffic. That's splendid and likely attributable to my Pink Trigger's ability to change the course of the story. Now, we'll start with a question. What is the most important thing that a prosecutor needs to have to succeed in this court, Cornelia?

"Allow me to speak... I would suspect a sense of justice, Inquisitor Hip. Without that, an inquisitor has no place anywhere in the proceedings."

Fair enough, Cornelia, but that's a bit obvious, don't you think? Like you said: everyone in the court needs to have a sense of justice. What does the prosecutor specifically need to have?

There was Cornelia's cute pouting face. She felt like the question was too broad. Ah... that sort of thing bothers angels, I suspect. "Forgive me, Inquisitor Hip... But I'm not sure."

Quite alright, Cornelia. I'll tell you: what a prosecutor needs more than anything is...

What a prosecutor needs more than anything is?
