"Are you fucking serious!?"

She stared at me. Her exclamation made sure anyone in the store who hadn't already seen me noticed me now. With a quick glance around myself, I counted 2 sets of additional eyes. "Is this some kind of fucking bet!? Where the fuck are your clothes!?" She shouted once more. I knew I was shaking all over. "Please, I'm not allowed to wear any, I just need to know if you have any applications..." I whimpered. A somewhat relieving feeling overcame me when I saw her features and posture soften a little. "You aren't allowed?" she asked cynically. "Honest, my clothes are gone until I can find a job." I spoke at a million miles an hour briefly explaining the situation I was in. As I continued the tale I could sense my observers had closed the gap to my location at the counter, but at least the girl at the counter slowly began to soften, and eventually smile. "That is so harsh dude. You don't deserve that. We have applications, I'm not sure if we are hiring, but you are welcome to fill one out, and...... I can let the manager know you are kind of..... ****. I can at the very least make sure she keeps it on file for you if something comes up!"

I couldn't help but let loose the biggest sigh of release I ever have. I'm sure my body visible loosened, even if I was surrounded but encroaching curious onlookers. She turned and bent under the counter, and opened a filing cabinet. As she rifled through the folders I heard the ding of the entrance bell, and saw a half dozen people enter from outside. I could feel my shaking increase as a dozen new eyes focused on me. "Ah! Here it is!" she exclaimed while presenting a paper. I saw her face whiten, which caused my own eyes to widen. She used her fingers to wave me over. I was nervous, because I realized the view bending towards her would cause me. I scrunched my bottom as close to the counter as I could before quickly moving my phone clutching right hand to my rear and leaning over. She whispered into my ear, "The managers usually makes people fill them out on the premise, but get out of here before these pervs get any closer." If I wasn't already as white as a sheet, I was now as I heard the shuffling behind me. "What do I do?" I asked. "Bring it to me tomorrow, at this time," she whispered while simultaneously shoving the paper into my folder, "and run!"

I didn't hesitate. I bolted, checking a guy between me and the exit. As he stumbled I was already shoving the cold door open with both arms. The warmth and open space of the outdoors was suddenly welcoming compared to the cold lecherous environment of the store. My thoughts silenced when I heard the door and feet padding behind me. Ive never felt my heart race so hard, or moved so quick in my entire life. With a quick glance I saw my pursuers stop at the edge of the sidewalk while I ran as fast as I could across the street. I could see the attendant just behind them screaming at them, hopefully in my defense. At least thats what I assumed since they stopped pursuit. A block away I finally slowed from my run to a brisk walk again, realizing no one was on my trail. They merely held their ground and let their white rhino disappear into the distance. You know that biggest sigh of relief ever? Yeah? Well I beat that record twice in one day. I was still trembling, but I was now almost half a mile from home, and still a block and a half from the bookstore. I didn't know if I could stand another situation like that. That was the most terrifying thing I've ever done.
