“And then what?” Rory smiled.

“What?” The guy looked confused.

“If you and your boys kick my ass. Someone calls the cops. I press charges. You get arrested. Aggravated ****, sexually harassing a female student, wearing white past labor day.” Rory smiled. “I have a really good lawyer for a mother so I like my chances. All you can do is beat me up a little but it can ruin your life. You would go to jail for a night, have to pay bail, maybe get kicked out of school on your first day, definitely get blood on that nice white shirt. Or you can be a gentleman and let the lady pass in peace.”

“It is your word against ours.” One of his friends said.

“Actually your word against the internet. Everyone has cameras these days and by now I am sure someone is recording waiting for a fight. You should have just thrown a punch and not give me time to stall and let people start recording.” Rory said. With any luck Frankie was recording just to watch Rory get his ass kicked. Rory saw at least two people behind Amy recording them. Rory smiled as they looked around seeing they were being watched.

“Come on Amy.” Rory stepped closer and held out his hand for Amy and smiled. She walked toward him and took his hand and Rory turned leading her past once she was away from the douche.

“Don't you walk away from me...” The asshole grabbed Rory by the arm. Rory turned and nailed him in the throat putting himself between the asshole and Amy. Rory looked at the guy on the ground who was gasping for air then his buddies. “Why you have to do that.” Rory shook his fist as he looked at the guy on the ground then at his friends who were debating joining him on the floor after Rory had put him down with one blow.

“There a problem here Rory?” Nick said and Rory turned to see Nick and several of the Frat boys then looked back to see the other two guys backing up at the sight of being vastly out numbered. One raising his hands up as if to say he didn't want any trouble as he took several steps back.

“Nope.” Rory leaned over grabbing the guy and helping him up by his collar. Truthfully it was taking everything in Rory to hold back his temper and not beat the guy when he was down. “Stand up you are making me look bad in front of the lady. Now I won't you to remember this feeling of helplessness the next time you mess with a woman. I didn't want to hurt you but I will. I have a black belt in krav maga, a lawyer for a mother, and a lot more friends then you as you can see. Next time I will lose my temper and you do not want to see me lose my cool trust me because it will hurt a lot more then this. You get me?” Rory said and the guy nodded as he was still trying to get his breath back.

“Good man.” Rory patted his cheek and straightened the guys shirt and brushed off his shoulders. “Glad we had this talk and could come to an understanding. Now you boys should take your friend here to get some fresh air.” Rory let him go and looked toward his friends then turned toward Amy. He guided her past the frat boys as he led her out picking up his coffee and breakfast on the way.

“Dude. Nice hit.” Frankie said as she caught up watching it on replay on her phone. Least it looked like self defense since the guy had grabbed Rory.

“Thanks.”Rory shook his head. He hated fighting when he could avoid it. Last thing he wanted was to fuck up his scholarship.

“You really have a black belt in Krav Maga?” Amy asked.

“I have a black belt.” Rory reached down and pulled at the belt he was wearing. Rory liked Krav Maga for its use in cinema because of its close quarters street fighter nature over the more flashy and sometimes silly martial arts used in older films but never took a single class. He just knew how to throw a punch.

“You are so full of shit.” Frankie smiled as she set down her board and stepped on it. “So race you back Rory?”

“Go ahead I will walk Amy back to be sure the assholes do not follow her.” Rory said drinking his coffee. Not like he could jog and drink coffee at the same time unlike her on her board. Rory swore she slept with that damn thing.

“Suit yourself.” Frankie smiled and kicked off taking a swig of her own coffee. He half wished she hit a bump to knock her down a peg.

“Thanks for back there.” Amy smiled.

“Of course.” Rory nodded.

“Still not sleeping with you.” She smirked playfully and shook her head.

“I'd settle for your number.”

“I am not sure I want to give it to a player.” Amy replied.

“I am not a player.”

“You haven't meet a girl yet you haven't flirted with.” Amy gave him a gentle elbow. “Every word out of your mouth is innuendo.”

“That is just my way of saying hello.” Rory laughed.

“And how many girls have you slept with on campus?” Amy crossed her arms

“None yet. I mean I could have sure but I want more then a one night stand. Not like I have a playbook for picking up chicks or something.” Rory smiled.

“Why don't I believe you?” Amy smiled.

“Hang on. You remember Jake right?” Rory pulled out his phone.

“Yes. Why?” Amy leaned over looking at Rory's phone and giving him a little peek down her top at her cleavage and a cute little white bra. Note to self start a playbook and add this to the list he thought.

Rory hit call and put it on speaker. A second later the phone rang. “Hello Rory. Need something? I am on my way out the door as we speak.”

“No. One of the Frat boys was asking. How many girls have I brought back to the dorm room since I have been here?” Rory smiled. If he had said a girl had asked Rory knew Jake would say none either way but if he thought Rory was trying to impress some guy Rory wondered.

“None that I know of and I rather not know.” Jake replied.

“Thank you buddy. Honest to a fault.” Rory laughed.

“Glad I could help.”

“Later.” Rory hung up and smiled. “See. He could have lied for me to impress some frat boy friend of mine but that is not his style. He keeps me honest.”

“Least I know he is a good guy but it doesn't mean you didn't go to some girls room.” Amy smiled as she shook her head.

“True but that should be proof you should give me a chance while you conduct your own investigation and not make assumptions. Innocent till proven guilty.” Rory teased.

“How about I let you buy me dinner then?”

“Fine but just so you know I do not put out on the first date. I am a gentleman.” Rory shrugged.

“Not happening on the third neither.” Amy shook her head as she threw him a look.

“So there will be a third then. Good to know.” Rory grinned.

“Not what I said.”

“It is exactly what you said.” He looked at her and took a long drink of his coffee.

“Ugh.” She gave him a little push though she moved more then he did.

“Nice to see you are coming around even if you are rushing things a bit. Before you rush things to much just so you know if we ever get to the meet the parents thing it could get complicated.”

“Why is that?”

“I mean do you want to meet my mom and her husband or my dad and his trophy wife. Then there is the ex step mom who practically raised me and her new boyfriend. I mean how many adults does it take to raise one kid.” Rory took a bite of the cinnamon bun. It wasn't his typical breakfast but he was to nervous to eat a big meal today.

“Having meet you I would say not enough because you haven't grown up any.” Amy smiled.

Rory almost choked and **** down a swallow. “Ouch. Brutally honest.”Amy let out a little laugh.

“What are you listening to anyways.” Amy looked at his headphones draped around his neck.

“My texts books for class. It's easier for me to listen while I run. Two birds and all.” Rory shrugged. He generally didn't tell most people he was dyslexic. Jake knew but that was it because Rory had let it slip when talking to Diana. He didn't want peoples pity.

“You can get them as audio books?” Amy asked.

“If you are willing to pay someone they will make anything into an audio book and email it to you. I am thinking of asking them to read a book of tongue twisters next just to fuck with them.” Rory smiled wondering how many cuts and edits that would take.

“Well if the whole acting thing doesn't work I can always do that.” Amy replied. “I hear there is good work in voice acting and I been told I have a nice voice.”

“Your two pretty to do voice acting work. You have a face made for movies.” Rory shook his head.

“Thanks.” Amy blushed then look at him as if waiting for something. “And this is where you blow it by saying something else cheesy right after that.”

“Nah. I will quit while I am ahead.” Rory smiled.

“You haven't even broke even yet pretty boy.”

“Am I at least making up ground.” Rory shrugged.

“A little but you are still a few places behind the leaders.”

“Cool. I am good from behind.” Rory nodded.

“Rory.” She threw him a look and then looked around as she blushed.

“What. I meant racing. Get your mind out of the gutter Amy. Jeez.” Rory rolled his eyes.

“Stop putting things in my mouth.” She popped him and he smiled while looking at her wondering if she knew what that sounded like. “Oh god. You know what I meant. Stop putting words in my mouth.” Amy buried her face in her hands.

“Your cute when you get flustered.”

“Thanks.” Amy said as she laughed into her hands.

"Of course princess." Rory smiled.

"Princess?" She gave Rory a look.

"You have that whole princess Leia thing going on. Though exterior but **** on the inside. And I am clearly Han solo." Rory teased.

"Arrogant, selfish. always shoots first. Yeah that describes you to a tee." She said with a playful smirk.

Rory froze in his tracks as she kept walking. Most girls his age had never seen the film or only the newer ones. "You have seen the movie?" Rory doubled his pace to keep up.

"I like old films plus I have the metal bikini back home I wore for a Halloween party last year. Worst idea ever considering how cold it was outside."

"What is your last name again?" Rory moved his coffee to his other hand and dug out his phone acting like he was looking on the internet.

"Nope it is not online and you will never get to see me in it because I am not having my mom mail it to me." She teased.

"So is next weekend a good time to drive down and meet your parents? I figure two weeks is plenty of time for us to get to know if we like each other or not." Rory smiled.

"Now who is rushing things. Not happening. Tell you what. Go a day without hitting on any of my friends and maybe. maybe I will let you see the picture."

"Challenge Accepted." Rory smiled shoving his phone back in his pocket and drinking from his coffee cup finishing it off before they crossed the street to the campus and she went her way and he went his toward there first class.
