"...kidnap Princess Leia."

You stand there in silence, looking at the massive, green slug in disbelief. "Aren't the Rebels our friends?" you ask, cautiously, not wanting to appear as questioning his judgement.

"Friends? No. But they are fighting the same enemy with us," Durga chuckles, his slimy hand playing with the rim of his throne. "They have been convenient players in this game. But, you might have noticed, the war has been going well for us lately."

You nod, you've read the same reports. Durga's shrewd dealings and posturing had set him up in an incredible position to grab key strategic locations in the Outer Rim that were previously untouchable by the Rebel Alliance. Now, the Empire had been cut off from vital supplies and were fighting a war at the fringes of the Galaxy. It was a huge logistical challenge for them, but those now allied with Durga's criminal syndicate had been running logistics for the Outer Rim since time immemorial.

"The Empire still has one great advantage: legitimacy. It's two against one, or at least that's how the Galaxy perceives it. And still, they persist. They are seen as strong, powerful overlords who dare not be challenged. It's time to change that and equal the playing field." Durga rocks on his dais, his slimy body squelching and shimmering in the dim light. You try to keep your eyes on his, but your memories of his slimy body, and just what it can do to you, begin to rise up in your chest.

"By capturing Princess Leia," he continues, "we'll be sending a message to the entire Galaxy that the Galactic Empire is not the superior party. We'll be showing that we'll be willing to wage a war on two fronts. And, by capturing a key official rather than killing their operatives, we'll be safeguarding against open retaliation, rather than encouraging it. The Rebel Alliance sometimes resorts to cutthroat tactics to achieve their goals, but they will hesitate before putting one of their own at risk."

You nod, the strategy seems sound. Now you just need a plan.
