Wand of Wishing

Chapter 1 by W65 W65

It was a warm afternoon. Danny was currently sitting in the park on a bench. Danny was a 27 year old man working for a small engineering firm and he seemed to be in a bit of a slog. About a month ago, he had broken up with his girlfriend and was in a bit of a slump, but now was starting to feel better. However, despite this, he still didn’t really have an prospects at the moment. Work was a drag, and while he had friends, he can’t really say he has a lot in his life. Still, he leaned back and let himself feel the sun on his face.

The sound of a heavy object hitting the ground, aroused Danny from his relaxation in the park. On the ground before him was a large rectangular box, about a foot in length. Looking around, it didn't seem like there was anyone else around. Nobody who may have dropped the box. Danny waited there for about ten minutes to see if anyone would come to get it, but nobody came. His curiosity getting the better of him, Danny took the box and brought it home with him.

Danny lived in one of the rooms of a three story apartment building. There wasn't much to write home about. A single living space, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The whole place wasn't in great condition either, and the landlady was a crabby woman in her early forties, but it was cheep and it was close to Danny's work, so it had to do. heading inside, he began to open the box. Inside was what looked like a wand and a piece of paper.

“For granting your deepest desires. But be careful what you wish for.” It read. He laughed at the paper in his hand. "Wishes, huh? Alright, buddy... I wish I had a million bucks." Danny's phone vibrated in his pocket as he finished saying that. Checking the message, Danny saw something that almost caused him to drop the phone. Enough money had just been deposited in his bank account so that he had one million dollars exactly.

"What the fuck?!" Danny shouted as he checked his banking records. There had to be a mistake, right? Looking over everything, Danny didn't see anything that would make anyone believe foul play. He was now a millionaire. He stood there for a minute before returning his attention to the wand in his hand. "No way..."

Looking around the room, his walls were a sickly yellowish-white color. It was awful to look at, so it would be a good test. "I wish that the walls were painted red!" Danny said, waving the wand again. In a moment, all the walls in his room were changed from their natural yellowish color to a nice red almost instantly. The sight was almost enough for Danny to drop to his knees. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" He shouted again.

It took him another minute to regain his composure after that before he waved the wand again. "I wish the walls were painted white!" He said, but this time nothing happened. He waved the wand again, but the walls remained their deep red color. Danny tapped the wand against the palm of his hand before saying, "I wish I knew what happened." Suddenly, a wave of information was into his head. The wish wasn't granted because wishes couldn't be undone or changed.

"I wish I knew any other limitations of the wand." Danny said to it. More information filled his head as his wish was granted.

  • Wishes are near limitless in what can happen. Magic can supplement any sort of physical or biological boundary.
  • Once a wish has been made, it cannot be unwished or changed unless room for the wish to change has been stated originally.
  • Only those that hear the wish will be aware that anything has been changed

So those were the rules of the magic wand that Danny has found himself in the possession of...

What does he wish for?
