Chapter 1 by Colleem Colleem

Bridge.

"Status report!" the giant warrior in blue armor asked the members of the bridge. The heavy servos of the armour whirred with every movement. The two-headed eagle on the chest plate was made of solid gold while the rest of the armor was in a soft blue. The warrior, who held his helmet under his arm, towered above the man in the golden chair in the middle of the bridge. However, the older man in the command chair in his elegant uniform did not seem intimidated in the least. When the man turned to the Ultramarine, the implant in his left eye could be seen.

"I will tell you as soon as we know, Lieutenant Kolar. Until then, you and your team members should explore the decks!" Even though he answered calmly and objectively, the tone of voice was that of a man who was used to giving orders.

"We're on Vox Channel 3!" said the Ultramarine and put on his helmet. "Team Holy Wrath. Gather at level 44, sector two. Standard weapons."

With every step the earth trembled as the Space Marine left the bridge, loading the bolter. As he approached the door the door opened and revealed 4 more Space Marines in different colors. Each of them wore different armor and weapons. All of them wore their helmets and when the Ultramarine passed them they followed him directly.

When the door closed again Admiral Coris turned back to the screens. In front of him on the floor of the bridge the navigator of the ship lay. His third eye on his forehead had exploded and shattered half of his head. However, the navigator had led the ship out of warp before the Gellar-Fields had completely collapsed. However, it was unknown if any warp creatures had managed to slip through. The servitors on the bridge were already busy moving the body away to burn it. The crew on the bridge ignored the servitors and hastily tried to regain control of the massive warship.

"You heard the Ultramarine, Vice Admiral. Status report?" smiled the Admiral and lit his whistle in peace. As he did so, his eyes glided to the young woman in the same uniform as his. The woman looked like 30 years, but she had been his right hand on the ship for over 150 years. Like everyone else, she had been born on the "Holy Mandate" and had proven herself worthy of her family.

The "Holy Mandate" was one of the oldest ships of the Emperor class and had already served the Emperor in the great war between brothers against Horus. In over 10 millennia this ship had always been victorious. But this mission had been different. For a moment his gaze flitted to the young woman standing quietly at the side of the Bridge. She wore a skin-tight black suit and a golden breastplate, on which the Imperial Eagle was visible. On her right leg hung a gold-plated bolt pistol while on her left belt hung a strange blade. This shimmered greenish and used a kind of magnetic sheath. Apparently this weapon was a sanctioned Xenos weapon.

The Ordo Chronos.

One of the emperor's most secret organisations. Even he, as admiral, only knew its name. However, the woman was acting on behalf of the Council of Terra. That's why the Deathwatch was on board. Normally this special unit of the Inquisition was formed to destroy high-value Xenos threats where a larger would be more obstructive. At the moment the unit consisted of 5 Space Marines and one Space Wolf Dreadnought.

The leader of the unit was Lieutenant Kolar of the Ultramarines. Specialist in long-range attacks. He was considered one of the Order's top marksmen.

His deputy was the Dark Angel Ignar who was supposed to support the troop with his plasma cannon with heavy firepower.

Then there was the Raven Guard Janus, the only Space Marine not wearing servo armor. Even though he had earned the right to wear such armor on countless battlefields directly under Order Master Shrike, he preferred to wear the lighter scout armor. As expected from the Raven Guard, he was considered the perfect scout and scout for the group.

For the fast attack power the team had the Blood Angelus. This was the only one of the group that had a jump module and was armed with two chain swords. On top of that he used two flame pistols.

The last Space Marine was a son of Russ. A Grey Wolf of Fenris. In his heavy tactical armor called Terminator armor, he was the team's heavy weapon. With a storm shield and a Thunderhammer, he was a threat even to vehicles. Even among the Space Marines he was a true giant who outdid the other Space Marines by several feets.

The last in the bunch was a Space Marine who had fallen on the battlefield. After his he had been placed in a sarcophagus and was now fighting the war in a dreadnought of the Space Wolves. At the moment the dreadnought was resting in its waiting position on the weapon deck and had gone down. But on top of that it was tied up in Adamantium chains. This had been a condition of the Space Wolves. According to their information it should only be activated when absolutely necessary.

"Admiral. We now have space-time coordinates. The warp storm has taken us far off course." Said his second-in-command to the Admiral.

"That was a truly strange warp storm. I've never encountered one like it." the Admiral nodded thoughtfully. "How far are we from our destination?"

"If our calculations are correct, Admiral, we have entered the Terra solar system." Said the sexy officer.

"Terra? That should be impossible. That would mean we're on the other side of the galaxy. I want to see the system!" he said, pulling his whistle. Even such confusing news didn't upset the old man. He had already conducted countless war prices and knew that it could come to all kinds of possible and impossible results.

He slowly rose from his throne as the wires from his implants slowly came loose. Together with his deputy and the agent he went to a large table on which a three-dimensional hologram of the solar system appeared. All three looked at the data listed next to the planets and the sun.

"Compare the data with the ship's archives, Vanessa." Said the admiral calmly and watched Vanessa follow his order.

"We have clear confirmation Mass, orbit and rotational speeds are in perfect agreement."

"That statement is sloppy and inaccurate." Said the agent of the Ordo Chronos and her crystal blue eyes seemed icy and methodical, but the Vice Admiral was not to be upset.

"Feel free to correct me." She smiled calmly.

"The purely technical specifications may be consistent, but this is not our Terra. As you can see here, the mass of Mars deviates by almost 0.021% from the archive data. This difference is due to the lack of manufacturing facilities on the planet."

" The lack of the manufactories?" asked the Admiral the first time a little astonished.

"Yes. Besides, you should have noticed that there are no ships here. Normally, Terra should be protected by the 2nd, 3rd and 9th fleet. Besides, the Fortress isn't here, either. The Imperial Fists would never leave their position."

"All stations to combat readiness! Vanessa. Load all torpedoes and man the guns! I expect full combat readiness in three days," the admiral said, watching his right hand leave the table to carry out the orders. " Navigator... Full speed ahead! Target Terra! I want continuous auger scans of the entire sector."

"Aye, Aye, Admiral! Full speed ahead! Augment scans of the solar system." His subordinates replied when the engines of the battleship came to life.

"Agent Yennifer. I'd like to speak to you in private!" said the admiral, smiling as he went into his ready room.

When they both arrived in the room, the Admiral sat down in his chair and took a deep puff from the pipe.

"I'm aware that the Ordo Chronos has certain rights and that this ship is currently under their control, but I think I might need to know what this mission is all about.

Slowly the agent sat down on a place and put the sword aside. Slowly she poured herself a tea and only after the first sip she answered.

"Our mission was to infiltrate the Tau homeworld and kill one of their leaders. A certain Tau named Shadowsun. She inflicted a heavy loss on the Empire in a battle by killing the Raven Guard's master of the Order."

"I've heard of it. However, with all due respect, I do not understand why a member of the Ordo Chronos is needed for something like this." Asked the admiral calmly and felt a shiver when he saw the look of the agent.

"Do you doubt the decisions of the emperor?" she asked and put one hand on the bolt gun.

Her powers were sufficient to execute immediately any member on board that ship if she deemed it appropriate. Probably only the Space Marines were spared such a fate, although he could not be sure.

"Of course not. The Emperor protects." The admiral hurried to answer and continued. "So you have no idea why we're here?"

"Yes. I do. However, it's not your job to get this information yet. The mission parameters have changed. Get me to Terra as soon as possible. I'll give you further orders there. Until then, you're free to make your own decisions, but I'd appreciate it if you'd brief me on key decisions." She said and rose. "I will now retire, Admiral."

When the woman had left the bridge he sighed and looked at Vanessa who was already waiting for him.

"More bad news?" he asked and sat down again. Immediately the connections in the chair connected to his implants and delivered data directly to his brain.

"The Deathwatch reported. There are casualties on Level 92 Section 19. Apparently, something got onto the ship during warp growth. They went into pursuit and I assigned one to the 892nd Cardia Contingent. The ship will be fully searched and every warp beast destroyed."

"The 892nd Cardia"? Isn't that only 80% strength?" he asked thoughtfully.

"That is correct, Admiral. At the moment, the regiment has a strength of only 18200 men, 140 Leman Russ and about 2000 sentinels. However, they are highly motivated after the loss of Cardia."

l "II understand. We will continue on course to Terra. If we still have creatures of chaos on board by then, we will set the self-destruct! I will not go down in the history of the Empire as the admiral who allowed chaos to land on sacred ground."

"The Emperor protects!" the officer saluted and nodded confidently. This decision was perfectly correct. If he had decided otherwise, it would have been her sacred duty to kill him and do it herself.

"The emperor protects!" nodded the old man contentedly.

Earth, Avengers Tower.

"Do we know what it is yet, Tony?" asked Cpt America as they looked at the monitors showing a strange space phenomenon. It looked like a vortex in the middle of the room, pulsing with energy.

"It's a rip in space-time. I've never seen anything like it. "But the crack had only been active for a few minutes. It had completely dissolved. But that's not our problem."

Tony activated a new image on the screen.

"The length of the ship is approximately 12 kilometers. "If my scanners are correct, it is incredibly heavily armed. It has set a direct course for Earth. At its present speed, it will arrive here in three weeks."

"Then we should prepare for it!" Thor laughed and struck his hand with the hammer.
