The business trip

As the plane lands, you're awoken to the sound of the passengers preparing to leave the plane. You grab your phone and begin to scroll mindlessly. 4 Days in a city you didn't want to be in, doing things you didnt want to, and listening to things you wish you hadn't. Your Melissa has kindly sent an email to everyone aboard the plane regarding the busy schedule.

Thankfully your assigned roommate is Doug, who is currently enjoying the beach in Bali, meaning that the room is completely empty for you. You smile, excited about the prospect of 4 days doing absolutely nothing of value, what a great use of your time!

A text reaches you, its from your beautiful wife, Emily.

"I already miss you already love."

You smile at the text, as she sends you a picture of her smiling. She's wearing a yellow top, with some jeans. Of course you couldn't bring her here, she's enjoying her work back home. Such a wonderful woman, you've been each others first since High School. What love birds!

"You're looking beautiful as always my dear." you reply back, with a smile on your mouth.

Another message comes through.

"Hey so did you ever fix the leak in the guest bedroom?"

You sigh, the dreaded guest bedroom! Who even sleeps there?

"I forgot" you reply back, imagining the frustration on her face.

"Uh huh, so can I use the fact that you aren't here and see if I can get it fixed, or are you going to insist you're going to fix it, and I will of course believe you will, but know deep down you wont? :) "

Oh but you love her to bits, but her concern is reasonable. It would be a great time to get the problem off your back. With so many projects, so much stress, maybe it is a good idea to just not deal with that?
