The Wave

The loud alarm painfully tugged Thierry away from his sleep. A holographic screen popped up showcasing a pale woman face. The screen flashed warning signs as a robotic female voice started her speech. "This is not a test, officer Blank, you are summoned to the main hall immediately. Take your service weapon with you. This is not a test-" Thierry jumped out of his bed. He shook his head and bend, disorderly taking what was stored below his bed while the message kept being repeated. He put on his officer suit and checked his gun, an automatic SK-486 with a rocket launcher and a fire thrower add-ons. Thierry glazed at the door as it opened using iris recognition.

As soon as Thierry exited his room, footsteps and mumbling echoed through the corridor. It was flooded with officials, mostly soldiers, rushing to the meeting room of the station. Tsuduru station was a satellite positioned at the border of the UNSE, United Nations with Shared Economy, further away stood what was called the Deep Space. Space that humanity didn't explore yet, and it meant most of the time trouble. Special troops called OEC, Officials Exploration Corp, were meant to explore while temporary stations were settled to give them supply. Tsuduru station was one of them. The main inhabitants of the station were soldiers, enlisted to protect the station. Thierry was one of them, an officer to be more accurate, leading a small troop of six soldiers.

The main hall was filled with most of the base officials. Its chief, Major Park, stood on a promontory. The officers sat in the front row. Officers lead a small troop of six soldiers. They are capable fighters but they mostly perform in piloting, repairing and leading. In the next row, the soldiers, main fighters for the UNSE troops, their training focused on Colossus Exoskeleton Suit wielding, CES for short. Even if expensive, those suits were strong weapons in both close combat and range fights. Lastly, in the last row, the staff, much less numerous.

"Tsuduru dwellers," Major Park began his speech, "we don't have much time. Multiple unknown lifeforms managed to sweep under our radars and entered into the main hangar, several soldiers were killed. We don't know much about those creatures, but one thing is sure, they are hostiles. We won't take the risk to fight them head-on, we will pull back to Lin station as our evacuation plan states. We will use evacuation ships located in the sector C. As for right now, we sealed the creatures in the main hangar, but they are somehow piercing through doors after doors and can be here any minute by now."

"First division!" Major shouted.

"Yes sir," a grating voice answered, a girl's voice. Long blond hair flew past her shoulders covering her deep blue suit. Her name was Vanessa, she was the first division officer.

"Proceed to the evacuation point," then Vanessa and her men proceeded.

Division after division the main hall emptied, good organization is key in this kind of situation. Thierry's gaze shifted toward Alice, 13th division officer, and childhood friend of Thierry. Her mid-long red hair covering her jade eyes. Alice always was the shy type, covering herself in her hair and not talking much. She only had a few friends, including Thierry. He met her when she was 4 years old in kindergarten. They grew up together and were in the same class almost all their lives. When Thierry chose to become a soldier, she followed him. Even with her small frail body, she managed to become an officer. She was smart and most importantly kind-hearted.

She returned him a thin smile before being ordered to leave the room with her men. Ryan, one of the elite soldiers, glanced at Karin, one of Alice's soldiers. Before being called to order, she gave him a wide smile. Each troop had 6 soldiers in it. Thierry's, the 16th, the last one being called, was composed of 2 girls, Jessica and Sarah, 4 other men and himself. Thierry gave them the order as he closed the formation. Major Park and his 4 elite soldiers already in their CES were soon to follow. Major Park sealed doors after doors behind them. Hopefully, this will buy them enough time.
