A middle aged man sat at his desk in the offices of Sato Industries, the hot summer air blowing across his hair as he filled out numerous forms granting permission for different projects for the company he worked for. The ones he was signing off now were for some kind of new genetic engineering program that his boss was interested in, a project that would be able to grant anyone in the world Bending abilities, even if their familial lineage had little to no traces of bending in it. The man sighed, staring down his window and seeing all the people of Republic City going on about their day, not knowing anything about the schemes he was concocting in his head and in his lab to make the world a truly better place.

His work was interrupted when he recieved a knock on his door.

"Yan, I need to talk to you."

The feminine commanding voice made the man named Yan simmer in anger, but he internally calmed down and took a deep breath before responding.

"Come in, Ms. Sato."

The door to Yan's office opened and in walked Asami Sato, the CEO of Future Industries and Yan's employer. She was a beautiful woman, her jet black hair somehow shining from the reflection of the sun and her ample breasts jutting out of her skin tight suit. The sight of his incredibly attractive boss both aroused and infuriated Yan in a strange way. Asami looked down at the brown-haired man and frowned.

"Yan, what's the progress report on that Bending Experiment? We were supposed to get this you've been working on to the neighboring towns weeks ago."

The innocent sounding voice from his employer continued to irrirate Yan, but he hid his composure. "I apologize, Ms. Sato. But the resources you've lent me for the project are too little to get anything of value done. I need more time, and money."

Asami sighed. "We've been giving you and your department all of the time and money you would ever need for months now, and we're still not getting any results. Are you trying to delay our efforts to give bending to the people of the world?

Yan held his contempt for the idea behind his smile. "Please, Ms. Sato, I'm very sorry for all of the delays, but a project of this size and scope is of the upmost importance. And, if I may speak personally here, you don't seem to be treating us with that importance.

The woman he was talking to raised her eyebrow at the accusation. "We're still an automobile company, Yan. We may have only just started to branch out, but we're still getting used to all of these new fields of research."

Asami's employee looked at her with an almost pleading look in his eyes, knowing that his research could potentially come to an end if the cow in front of him didn't say yes to his request. Asami pinched her face and took a deep breath.

"Very well, we'll lend your department more resources."

Yan smiled. "Thank you so much for your kindness, Ms-"

"Don't mistake my leniency for kindness", Asami said while interrupting the man at his desk. "I have some more forms for you to fill out."

The boss dropped a giant stack of papers on Yan's desk, the pile being so high that it overtowered the man in his seat. "I want all of these done by the end of this week. We have a partnership with Varrick Global Industries for this project, and you need to make sure everything goes to the right people. Understood?"

Yan nodded in understanding, trying to hide his killing intent from the eyes of the woman he was to call his superior. Asami started to walk away from Yan before turning back one last time, her hand on the door to his office.

"Oh yes, and Ms Lei Chun will be taking lead on the project from now on. Your incompetence and delays in completing this project has shown us you're not capable of leading the charge on this. We decided that she is a much more suitable candidate for the project as a whole."

The woman walked out, leaving Yan completely enraged while he sat down, staring at the papers in front of him, but visualizing what he'd do to that uppity cunt of a boss if he ever got the chance. He grabbed a hold of the top paper from the stack and started signing, his mind toiling at what he was going to do later that night for his real research.
