The Necklace of Inanna

The Necklace of Inanna

Cursed Curiosity

Chapter 1 by brothersammywilson brothersammywilson

Dr. Jessica Anderson was a leading writer, researcher and archeologist on ancient Bronze Age civilizations, despite only being in her early thirties. Her work was cited worldwide, and her discoveries lined the halls of museums around the globe.

This fame and skill had not come without cost though. Being a successful woman in academia required a degree of social sacrifice. Dr. Anderson had to develop boundaries between herself and her assistants and colleagues for fear of appearing to "sleep her way to the top". This had given Jessica a reputation for being an ice queen, but she did not care so long as she was successful.

Her level of prestige also demanded a higher standard of professionalism. While her team scoured the remote desert near the Persian Gulf in shorts and tank tops, she reserved herself to a white polo and khaki pants. This was not due to a lack of body confidence. Dr. Anderson had a tall limber frame fron years of long hikes to archeological dig sites, and her b-cup breasts and ass were the better for it, but that was for herself and the occasional boyfriend she managed to avoid pushing away for a few weeks to see, not her staff. She currently was standing over a map of her dig site, reviewing what she knew so far, her long brown hair tied back in a messy bun, to keep it out of her face.

Her research had lead her to the discovery of an ancient Sumerian temple to the goddess Inanna, the Sumerian goddess of love, beauty and sex. Recently translated text had referenced an object known only as Inanna's necklace, described as a magical totem of the goddess, but the doctor dismissed these stories as exaggeration. In reality, it was probably a religious totem, likely used in fertility rites. Finding it would be another notch in a belt full of notches for Dr. Anderson, and would be a remarkable breakthrough on understandings of sumerian culture.

The team had located the temple, and had spent their first week documenting artifacts preserved around the outside. The few pictures not lost to the sands of time depicted a variety of sex acts, with women wearing some sort of necklace. This seemed to confirm Dr. Anderson's belief that this was the site of Inanna's necklace, but also required her frequent chastising of her immature research assistants. Secretly, she too found the murals lewder than most sites she had been at, but she dismissed this as her research on Sumer described a people with more sexual liberty than their contemporaries. Her team was currently working on opening the entrance to the main temple.

Her research partner, Dr. Kevin McGinn, approached her from behind. She felt him linger for a moment, probably staring at her ass. Kevin was a brilliant archeologist, and so she tolerated some of his less obvious inappropriate behavior, but she would never consider him as a romantic partner.

"Dr. Anderson, we've gained access to the main chamber ", he eventually said.

"Good, thank the staff and send any non-essential workers home for the day." This was standard practice for Dr. Anderson, she didnt want some 20-something graduate student leaking photos of an unverified find on Instagram with some shitty Indiana Jones quote. "Let's go find this necklace "
