The Morridan Expanse

Greetings! And welcome to the lands of Morridan, also known as the Morridan Expanse. You must take the role of one or more ‘Adventurers’ or equivalent persons through their lives as they attempt to figure out a dark secret that is hiding in the midst of this proud land. As for the Adventurers and equivalent persons go, Adventurer is merely the common title given to these strange beings that are born randomly to normal parents. It is in fact hereditary but for the most part, an Adventurer’s parents are human. Now there is a good deal of variation between each Adventurer in terms of what exactly they can do but the common features in each one is that they are stronger, more durable and each have access to magic in some form or another.

Shortly you will choose who you shall take charge of but first and try to either; keep them alive, get to the bottom of this secret or even join in and make whatever dark plot that has been hatched, come to Pass. First however, we must cover some important details, firstly; you must be aware of the general outlines of the Morridan Expanse, it has much more in common with your ‘United States’ lands in terms of shape while its size is consistent with if this same ‘United states’ was mixed with the land directly underneath it, I believe that land is called Mexico? In terms of factions, well I shall make available to you, the encyclopedia at some point so that you may record all of your findings in it and see what others have recorded and perhaps I shall even record a few things to start the encyclopaedia off but for now it is barren so I’m going to keep it but you shall have it eventually.

Now on to the various peoples you might encounter. First up, are the elven lands to the north of the Morridan Expanse. These lands are completely unmapped to us so I can’t give you any details on how large they are and these adventures you are about to have won’t be in those lands but they have some significance. Separating the Morridan Expanse from the Elven Lands is E’rufina, which is pronounced something along the lines of “Air roo fee na” and is the home to the ‘Common Elves’ as we call them down south because they are the only elves that a normal human is likely to ever see.

To the south of the Morridan Expanse, you have the Badlands, we have no idea what is down there . . . nobody has even made the attempt, not even me but we do know that the ‘Orcs’ come from there. I’m sure you will come to know more about the Orcs in time but let’s just say they aren’t as brutish as most people claim they are.

Now onto the most important subject, magic. Magic is an energy source produced by Cryean, a mysterious blue mineral that takes on the shape of a crystal when fund naturally and inhabits the bodies of Adventurers all. It’s the reason they are more durable than humans and have access to magic. As for the humans, they must find their power from elsewhere and the places they can find that magic number two. Firstly is the realm of Eternia, it’s a name given by the human church that operates in some places. This source of energy is largely considered ‘good’ magic because the beings in Eternia value order above chaos but whether or not they are actually good? I shall let you make your own judgment. The second source of magic is Daemonia, the land inhabited by Daemons and largely considered the equivalent of your ‘Hell’ however this is not an accurate assumption as the only difference between Eternia and Daemonia is that their sources of magic are in opposites of each other.

So with that, you now posses the basics needed to survive in this new land. Who am I? Maybe you will find out eventually . . . maybe not but for now, it is time to choose who you are going to shape the life of, and indeed, the lives of the Morridan Expanse.
