The Maestro

Your phone alarm goes off and you open your eyes to snooze it. Thankfully you still had two hours before you needed to leave for work. With only ten weeks left before leaving for college, naturally you worked instead of going to the beach.

Suddenly, a bright green light shown before your eyes. It was so bright, it stung through the cracks between your fingers and you attempt to block your face.

“Can he hear us?”

“What’s going on?” You ask aloud.

“We are the Ones. We would like to grant you any wish you desire.”

Despite being woken up abruptly, your thoughts dwell on your dream. Last night your were reading the new Hulk comic series where he wakes up in the future. You really liked how how he made himself king of the post-nuclear war civilization. You especially wanted his giant harem. Still groggy, you don’t even think through your decision or give yourself godlike powers.

“I want to be The Maestro from my comic.”
