The Guillotine

A body part swapping story

Chapter 1 by Alter32 Alter32

You’re helping your neighbor clear out garage one day when you notice a large wooden structure under a pile of junk. At first unsure about what it is, you investigate further to find a large, rusty, metal blade lying against it. Remembering your recent history unit on the French Revolution, you soon realize the significance of this contraption. It’s a guillotine! But what’s it doing in your neighbor’s garage. You didn’t want to pry, so you set the thought aside for the second and continue to clear out the garage.

A few hours later you’ve finished and you decide to collect your payment. You See the machine in the corner of your eye once again, and decide it wouldn’t hurt to ask what it’s for.

You enter your neighbor’s house and the old gentleman greets you,

“How did it go out there?” He asks, as he counts out three 20 dollar bills to hand you as payment.

“Pretty good.” You remark, “hey, I noticed you had a guillotine out there. I was just wondering what you used it for? Or should I even ask...”

“Oh, that old thing?” He scoffs. “I’m a history buff. Bit of a mid-life crisis purchase. Never got around to selling it” he looks up at you. “You could sell it if you’d like. I’d bet it’d be worth quite a bit of money to a collector.”

“I’ve got nothing better to do” you quip, as he hands you a clear blue liquid in a glass bottle.

“Here. Polish the blade with this. This’ll take the rust off in no time”

With that, you brought the guillotine over to your house on a dolly and polished it until it sparkled. You then set it up in your garage.

“Okay. Let’s see if this works” you say as you pull the string releasing the blade. What you fail to account for is the you’ve accidentally laid your index finger on the stock, leading to it being cut clean off. You look down and suppress a scream, so not to alert your parents. You search the ground for your finger when you realize the you seem to still be able to move it. You grab it and realize that the cut has healed perfectly to skin. You then bring your finger to your hand and reattach it.

This could be interesting...

You walk in to your house and are greeted by your family members.

Who do you test it on first?
